There is much endless speculation on CrackBerry about this with the S3 coming probably in the third quarter. Some have postulated an earlier release, even saying something is in beta testing with Vz but no solid evidence. RIM is either very very good at chocking off leaks or more likely doesn't have anything yet. Their going to be releasing new phones with much more powerful processors this year but they will all be running O6, not QNX which is at least a year away.

More than likely, both those phones are exclusives which is why they're not on Verizon yet. That being said, I think Verizon got a little miffed when ATT got the torch and Blackberry was still trying to push Surepress touchscreens on the Storm3

There are a couple Blackberry's coming sometime this year. One is similar to the Storm with a touchscreen but a little different because the screen doesn't press like the Storm. Then there is another one similar to a Curve style with a keyboard but it also has a touchscreen.

The only thing I still miss about my Blackberry is the complete control I had over notification ringtones. It bugs the crap out of me that every email, SMS, app ping, etc. all has the same ring tone.

How is it that I now have separate tones for email and SMS and you don't?

I assume you have Android? You can customized it in each app. There is the systemwide notification that is used if it's not specified in an app. Go in to your email or text app and go to settings and then you can set one for that specific app. If you don't set it or if by chance the app doesn't have the notification settings option then your default notification in settings of the phone will be used.

I asked this same question in Dec as we were due for an upgrade the 2nd week in Jan. Did not want to go for a Droid, not happy with the touch screens even though searching the web is better. Upgraded to a Bold which was the better of all the BB's and no one knew when something new was coming out. So by the time we are ready for another upgrade here's hoping that VZ has the Torch or better BB's. For now the Bold does what we need them to do.
