Epik - Not a stupid question - Xoom

youaremyhero

Would I be able to apply my NE2 + $100 with a XOOM!?

I'd rather get that since it's going to have the Android 3.0 Honeycomb!

Sorry, Fail.... it is a stupid question (I really shouldn't even be responding)

Seeing as nobody even has a real release date, pricing details, Contract or no contract requirements....Their is no way to answer this question with any sort of certainty. Any answer you get would just be speculation.

Why do you flood these forums with ridiculous questions?

Speculation is better than nothing.

I don't believe it's a ridiculous question if others, I'm sure, will be asking the same thing.

Is this forum strictly for facts and current official information? Is speculation not allowed?

Because of you, I will not come back. Go ahead and celebrate.

As happy as I would be to see you never return to these forums I sincerely doubt that will happen.

Speculation is not better then nothing.

The only thing speculation typically does is anger people because when the truth finally comes out and it is different then what was speculated it causes an uproar.

I am 2 for 2 tonight!

I know everyone says to ignore the trolls and they go away but this statement is untrue. They get relentless and keep posting over and over.

Uh ya hi excuse me. I guess it's not a stupid question. Somebody knows historic trends and company policy enough to answer my question, Boy Genius. 😲

BGR used to be a great source of rumors, but they've becoming little more than a clickbait site in the past year or so. They'll post any rumor that will get them links.

No, because tablets are not and will not be sold on contract with a subsidy. It looks like the Xoom will be priced at $799.

Thanks,
I did not think it was a stupid question either, especially as a general question. I have also wondered if I could replace my smartphone with a tablet, since I can't afford data connection for both.

The Xoom is a tablet. This means that if you get it, you'll be giving up your phone number (it won't make phone calls)

1) Current policy stipulates that if a mobile number is changed from a phone to a Internet device for the purpose of completing the transaction on an Internet device, that mobile number MUST remain an Internet device for the life of the contract.

It used to be that customers would come in, having one upgrade on a phone, wanting a netbook. They didn't want to open a Mobile Broadband line for the netbook, and they wanted to use the available upgrade to get the discount. Essentially, they were "working" the system to get a $300-$500 laptop for $30-$100, and taking the contract extension on their phone. The line would be converted to a mobile broadband line, the order processed, and then the ESN and price plan were moved back to a voice l...

If they treated the Xoom like a netbook. I'd buy a Xoom @ $300 and a 2 yr contract at ~$35/$50 a month (willing to pay more for 4g speeds too).

My budget just cant handle the rumored (advertised?speculated?) $799 pricepoint but i want this thing so damn bad.

I don't even really need one, i just WANT one

You know what would be cool, is if you take a xoom that only uses wifi then super glue it on to a simple feature phone.
