That is pretty cool news, actually. I didn't think they'd add that feature.

I work for another carrier but I like this news too. iphone on CDMA is exciting. I doubt it will move to any other provider for a long while (if at all) but at least it is no longer an exclusive provider device.

Still like Android at the moment a bit more but Apple will always have a strong hold on the wireless industry. They are iconic and iphone is a household name. Good stuff for Verizon.

Now the cat is officially out of the bag, it makes me wonder how the pricing structure will change for contracts, data, and 1 yr agreements with this device.

It has been listed that the iphone is $199/299 for a two-yr agreement. Would the pricing structure change for a 1 yr agreement or will it just bounce up $70 like other devices?

I don't think I would consider buying this phone w/ my NE2 upgrade if there is a more expensive purchase price (>$70 over) for a 1 yr activation nor would I get this phone on a 2 yr.

Makes me wonder how this device will change things.

I think your answer is already partially there. NE2 is going away, early upgrades are going away, 16 days are being shaved off the return period...

I just hope this doesn't herald the end of the one-year contract. When I'm no longer with Verizon, I might consider a one year, but not two year.

New Every 2 going away? Early upgrades going away? A 2 week return policy? Where did you hear this? First I've heard.

Also, if you don't like contracts try USC. Sign a contract 1 time and new worry about signing one ever again!! 😉

USC doesn't exist in my neck of the woods.

Yes, NE2 and early upgrades are going away.

The return policy moving to 14 days... well, no one covered that. I can assure you it's true, but I have nothing that I can link to that you'd be able to see. It's internal info.

So when will Verizon customers be able to upgrade if New Every 2 is gone and Early Upgrades out of the question?

My NE2 from my current contract is up in March. I should be grandfathered in for the credit. I just hope having a new (old) iphone would change the pricing structure in this situation.

But, I think all of the new LTE phones will be out then. So I guess I have my pick of the litter. Good chance I will still do a 1yr agreement and pay the extra in the sense that I will probably want the next best thing in 10 months. I swear high tech phones is a serious addiction. I could say this about electronics in general.
