Upcoming Holiday Phones?

As of today, I'm eligible for a 2 year upgrade and am about to make the switch from RIM to Droid, but am hesitant to jump in due to the upcoming holiday season. It seems Verizon likes to release quite a few phones between late November and mid December, so I'm afraid if I get a droid now, a better one will be out within a month and a half.

Does anyone know any phones that are in the works for the near future? Wondering if I should go ahead and dive into a new phone or wait it out until after Christmas. Id absolutely love to see a Verizon version of the EVO.

Yes, but current rumors peg it for a spring release and having LTE radios in tow.

Oooohhh LTE 🤤

Verizon will have me excited when/if they bring an LTE equiped version of the Samsung Epic 4G. In my opinion the Epic is the current King of smartphones!!!

Played with an epic.. way to platicy in feeling for a slider for my tastes (not a fan of galaxy S design in general)

IMO HTC has the best Hardware phones right now with their Merge/G2 N1 setup

Unibody aluminum ftw

Yeah, I went toa Tmo store to see if HSPA+ is the *real deal* and checked out the G2. I am very, very impressed. It feels very solid.

Hey, I want to pass something by you that frustrates the heck out of me!!! I know how *perfect* YOUR Droid is, but mine isn't.
When I'm in the web browser, or doing whatever else, and I press the home button, my icons and folders take 8-15 seconds to re appear. It's really, really frustrating, when I press the home button I want *instant* access to my homescreen icons & folders.
Any ideas or thoughts?

Are you still using a task killer? and did you do a factory wipe after uninstalled task killer?

Also, if you're still using ADW launcher, in the advanced settings, there is an option to toggle that will attempt to keep your homescreen in memory. it should help with the issue.

I read your posts about task killers a while ago, and I deleted ATK, and !!NO!! I didn't do a factory reset! That's toooo much work putting things back they way I like and so. Folders, homescreens, settings and so on.

Also, I don't have ADW launcher. Just the standard 2.2

Whatever task killers do to your device, it sticks around after they're gone. ☹️

That's the one thing about rooting though.. you get REALLY good at getting your phone to look right again. atm, it only takes me maybe 2-3 hours to go from one rom to the next and have everything set again. and most of that time is apps downloading.
