Droid X or the Samsung Fascinate. Either one you cant go wrong.

I agree with Justmarried (congrats)
I personally dont even know which I'd go for, both phones are freakin amazing in stats.
Let me spare you some time:
DROIDX and Fascinate are nearly identical in info.
They both have 8.0 MGPX camera, HD video recording and both run on 2.2 Froyo (and if one is 2.1, its easily software-upgradeable to 2.2 when it is released as an update.

DROIDX: 4.0 screen, Physical durability, HDMI PORT, internal space for multimedia/business, comes with 2.1 system but upgradeable via software update by DEC. Run by GOOGLE, comes with GOOGLEMAPS.

Fascinate: 4.3 screen, Extreme gaming capabilities, comes with automatic 2.2 Froyo, also runs outlook programs/files. Not as physically durable. Run by BING. Googlemap APP...

Not necessarily, DROIDX has 4.0 while fascinate, very slightly bigger is 4.3, to physically compare them side by side in person you would barely notice a difference.

They both record in HD, however only the DROIDX has an HDMI PORT.

Have you ever used the comparison system here on phonescoop? It's quite good.

Also, the X has a 4.3 inch screen, the Fascinate a 4.0. The X has an 8 MP camera, the Fascinate a 5.0MP. And you know what, side by side they are very different in size, looks and feel.

To the original poster, I'd read some of the reviews, both here and on Phonearena, visit a local store and play with them, and then make a decision. I've sold both of them and like the X better because of the bigger screen and the larger out of the box memory capacity (24 vs 16). The Fascinate has a lot to recommend it as well, so it will really be a contest of your initial gut feel for which one you like when you see them. Neither one of them is a bad choice, or prese...

Actually now that you mention it, looking at the specs provided on this website, either the information on this website isn't as accurate, or my Verizon Cooperate Training was wrong.
They mentioned at multiple separate times that the screen was 4.3, so I find that rather interesting.

Then they'll never get a device 😛 (Plus the tab doesn't look like it will support voice)

In using the two, I say the Droidx has a slight edge when it comes to browsing because the LCD screen is a bit better at rendering smaller text and white backgrounds kille AMOLED screens.

If you want it for multimedia, the Fascinate has the edge. but they're both great choices.

This is exactly true. If web browsing is your primary concern, get the Droid X. White backgrounds decimate the battery life on AMOLED screens and, unfortunately, the internet is WHITE.

Also, Fascinate has not yet been blessed with the Froyo 2.2 upgrade, so the Droid X has the upgraded 2.2 browser (with Adobe Flash) rolling in its favor as well.

Well, the cynical answer is, "30% compared to WHAT?" It's a bit more efficient than non-super AMOLED displays. Traditional and Super AMOLED both use almost the same technology for igniting the pixels, but they differ in the number of layers of glass/ceramic between the LED light source and the actual finger impacting the screen to register input.

AMOLED in general are only power efficient when displaying black, red and blue and are terribly inefficient when displaying whites or greens.

The problem is that the internet is 95% white, so AMOLEDs are being forced to operate in one of the most inefficient bands they have whi...

It looks like green isn't as bad as I thought and red isn't as good as I thought.

That or phonearena is fabricating data, which wouldn't be too surprising.

Being 20% to 40% more efficient at color but being over 300% LESS efficient on white isn't a great position to be in with a white internet. ☚ī¸

Not sure where you're getting your info from but here are the correct stats.

Droid X: 4.3 in screen with 16M color support, runs 2.1 out of box but is being pushed 2.2 currently. mini HDMI out. comes with google maps

Fascinate: 4.0 In super AMOLed screen (great color contrast) comes with 2.1 out of box with an upgrade to 2.2 in the near future (no release date set) default search is Bing.

Both are android phones so both are run by google.

I doubt you are getting your information from VZ corporate.

A recent Manager Meeting for Verizon, including myself and many many others had established such information during live training, you aren't in any place to tell me I'm not getting my information from VZ Corperate, whether it is correct or not doesn't mean I'm a liar about where I get my information.

I was sharing the information I was trained on, if you don't agree with it or think it's wrong, just a simple correction will do, thank you.

Actually he is. You were trained wrong or you weren't paying attention.

Droidx: 4.3 inch LCD screen 854x480 resolution. Running 2.1 with 2.2 being pushed out now, so they can upgrade as soon as they activate the device. It has a 8MP camera with HDMI out, and can record in 720p at 25fps

The Fascinate is a 4.0 inch SuperAMOLED screen with 800x480 resolution. This means better glare resistance, and deeper blacks, but some fuzzyness when rendering text. It has a 5MP camera but still records 720p at 30FPS. It ships with 2.1 and 2.2 IS NOT OUT FOR IT YET, though it will be most likely soon. Preinsalled with Bing and Vznav but you can replace most of the functions with Google.

I've been to device training before, and they're not i...

Thats not true lol!!

They did NO training for the first 2 months I was even on the sales floor, I had never sold cellphones before, It was usually computers or other electronic devices like Digital Cameras, GPS systems, Laptops and etc, but my personal impression of this company so far isn't that great in my opinion, they are very laggy with getting their employees the tools they need to sell, and we usually get our trainings after the device is already launched and customers are asking about them. Maybe it's just my location, because some other employees I worked with at the beginning of this job were quite questionable, a few had no electronic sales experience at all.

As one of my first jobs after moving here in LA, I'd say its merel...

I'll agree with epik here, it seems like you work for a retailer, and not Verizon corporate. There is nothing wrong with this, I work for a retailer as well, but what it means is that you dont really have "verizon" training unless your retailer opts for it (it sounds like they didn't)

I work for a company that does, which is what I was going off of since you said Verizon trainer.

That's an issue with your retailer (and with a lot of them, it was that way with my old company)..

Menno, based off of BHabelitz4GWireless's profile, I think she works for 4G Wireless, an indirect out of California (I believe).

http://4gwireless.com/Employment/AboutUs »

This may or may not explain the delay in trainings she mentioned in her follow-up to this message, as well as the incorrect information, assuming she's being trained by 4G and not Verizon.

I know Verizon trainers (meaning, they are employed by Verizon) in southern California, as well as some of the indirect staff, and I know for a fact that the training department in California is top-notch. They train the other trainers throughout the western US. Indirect is crazy busy throughout California, with a lot of authorized and premium retailers (4G is a premium retailer...

I said "I doubt you got this information from VZ Corporate" Nowhere did i say that you didn't hear this. I'm just casting doubt.

So, there are three different things that could've happened here. You didn't get trained by Vz Corp, you didn't pay attention, or your trainer was wrong.

Better late than never. If i didn't speak up it would've been somebody else and they would have said the same thing.

The basic point is that if you believed the information that you posted earlier, there is a likely chance that you were positioning the phones incorrectly to your customers, which in itself is bad for several reasons. The customer gets misinformed then pissed off and adds to the already lowly opinion of Verizon Retailers.

As a salesperson its your job to know the ins and outs of every product that you sell. Not knowing your product hinders both yourself and the customer.

thats just my take on the matter. You can take it however you want.
