2.2 for original motorola Droid is out now

You can download the signed (official) file from droid life or android central and manually install it.

Google hasn't updated the market yet though, so copy protected apps (like flash beta) won't show up until they flip a switch. You won't lose your purchases, you just might not be able to find them right away.

I installed 2.2 and 10.1 and both work great.

Yep, there's 5 homescreens.
The web browser is so, so faster, when at the Phone Scoop website and I click on carriers all the carriers logos appeared pretty fast. I still think Android Central could load faster though.

Sidenote: I am extremtly, extremely dissapointed in how few developers have updated their apps so they can be stored on sd card. Probably only about 5 apps I have were able to be moved to sd card. C'mon deveolopers update your apps so they can be stored to sd card!!!

Anyway, I'm having chocolate brownies frozen yogurt & rasberry frozen yogurt, Ben & Jerry's.

Thank you Menno for the help! Since I successfully did the 2.2 update manually maybe I am confident enough now to root.

The official release should be coming in the next couple of days. The droid 2 will be released next week.

What I have is the official release. I just d/l it manually, rather than wait for the OTA update.
