Verizon Changes it's Mind - - GSM is Better

Interesting article
but my experiace from previous posting is that cdma is better than gsm, and that people don't think lte is gsm.
so they need to catch up a little.
2) If LTE were GSM they would call it GSM2 or something else. LTE is NOT GSM, just as GSM is NOT TDMA, just as TDMA is NOT AMPS, and AMPS is NOT wireline telephony, and wireline telephony is NOT teletype, and teletype is NOT morse code, and more code is NOT a letter in the mail and so on and so forth. They each find their roots in the technology that came before it, but that does not make it the technology before it.
Apparently the electric fan inside my computer is a steam engine, by your argument, as that little fan owes much to its similarities to steam engines, or gasoline engines, or even the workings of a clock.
I can pick up an amateur radio right...

Seriously.. creating a new topic and then BUMPING the old topic where you posted the same crap and people pointed out you were wrong then doesn't validate your point, it validates ours... Namely, that reading is a skill foreign to you.
Oh, and according to deepbluesky:
-WCDMA is the name of Verizon's 3g, and is inferior to ATT's HSPA, which is basically 4g, but the 3g version
-ATT spends 2x the amount of money as Verizon on their network
-Verizon won't transition well to LTE because they don't currently have any phones that operate on more than one band
-Verizon's 4g won't actually be 4g because verizon doesn't have enough t1 lines (seriously) to take the traffic from the tower, to the internet (the internet, btw, is 5 super computers in the US.. they read it on Wikipedia)
I'm still trying to identify the other two core systems. I'm almost certain the third is ENCOM from Tron, but I haven't discovered any info on the fourth super core system that powers the Internet.
I'd have to say the Reapers control one of the cores, but I've no clue what they named it.
Maybe as a whole, they are the core. 😳
"I work for AT&T, and I need to justify their choice of technology, therefore GSM is better."
After all the years I've worked for Verizon, I still don't care all that much that they picked CDMA. I would have had all the same conversations with customers over the years, just with different terminology.
But, once again, who cares? I just like the idea of having a single standard for the next generation of mobile devices.
What's this WiMAX thing, anyway? 🤭
LTE might be better in the long run... but WiMax2 is already being released.
*Shrug* Competition is good either way.
GPRS/EDGE was what they picked for their 2G standard... UMTS/WCDMA is what they picked for their 3G.... LTE is what they picked for their 4G.
Do not think too deep into this. It is just a surface analogy to make a point about CDMA vs GSM.
CDMA = Satellite
GSM = Cable
LTE = Fios
While Fios does run thru a cable it is the next generation of technology. So its not like VZW is 'switching' to GSM. They are picking the next step in the evolutionary stage.
