True, but those numbers are still VERY unsettling... I mean 1 in 3 calls dropped is acceptable? No freaking way.

ask the stupid apple genius that isn't an AT&T rep. they aren't actual genius's there anyways, just a bunch of idiots that sell expensive computers.
i mean, just because someone says that its 30% doesn't mean its true. plus he doesn't say where he was calling from, he could be in the middle of a building and more than likely no one gets great reception as it may be getting blocked from getting signal.

nah its just dumb that someone would go about complaining to a website about their experience and then the "genius" at the apple store, not AT&T store, starts putting out statistics and hes a reliable source all of a sudden.
my girlfriend was just in new york and her family has AT&T and she called me every night and no dropped calls at all.

Well it is an Apple prouduct and he got that info from a "Genius". 🙄 Why is it that if there computers are so "user friendly" do you need to talk to a genius to get help. When my Vaio goes down I get help from my coworker to fix it and believe me he is no genius.

When I had AT$T, I dropped calls all day long, to the point that my clients complained about it.

With VZW, my phone works "in the middle of a building" and in basements, elevators, etc.

Typical AT&T drivel.

Considering the warranty is through apple, the product is through apple, etc, why shouldn't they listen to apple tech support?

You do realize in cellular both the device and network can detect when the call is dropped and which end it was dropped from. That is why the phone announces "call failed" to you and if you look on your billing some carriers even identify which calls were dropped.

It's quite simple, if the communication is cut off without receiving an "end call" signal from the device, then the device/network connection got severed (call was dropped).

Probably not the phone but the service. Down here in Louisiana, ATT has lots of dropped calls no matter what the phone.

We visited Louisiana a few years ago, right after I borrowed a friend's old LG phone just to get onto VZW (I was waiting for the E815).

It was hands down the worst POS phone I had ever touched...and it had service out in the swamps of your state on a sight-seeing tour, where the rest of the people's AT&T phones were WORTHLESS!

The piece of crap phone rang, and I took care of a client's question, all while watching alligators ravage a piece of chicken. Cool stuff. Everyone else on the boat freaked when my phone rang. I laughed at them!
