Storm vs. Touch Pro

I am trying to decide between these touch phones. I need internet access to check emails and love the touch concept and have been wanting to try it for my upgrade from a great phone LG 8600 that has reached it's retirement age. Also, I live in Wyoming where Alltel is going to stay Alltel and not switch over, which means that we don't get Verizon and the Storm is only carried by Verizon but Touch Pro is MUCH cheaper through Alltel. Any and all suggestions are welcome!

If you REALLLLLYYYYYY want the Storm then Google Storm on Alltel.... you will find numerous people using that phone on Alltel. YOu can buy one (a Storm) on Ebay and use it on Alltel service.

P.S. The Touch Pro battery life is horrible!

Maybe I should have also asked if anyone has any recommendations on touch screen smartphones (at least "smart" enough that I can check email on a mobile phone)? Any suggestions?!?!?

Storm has a bunch of ui issues the touch pro touch screen is better, but like all winmo phones they have minor lag issues and battery life doest suck, but is not great.

That's why you install a cooked ROM - there are countless cooked ROM's for the Touch Pro that are far better than anything Window's or Blackberry has to offer.

The pop-o-matic screen is the killer for me. I am using a Touch Pro, and love it, battery suckage and all. I have a spare battery, and a car charger. I rarely use the back up battery, but the car charger gets me home. 🤣

People second guess the actual power of this phone. It is quite possibly, the most broad of all the phones currently available in the US. It's easy to hack, if you're into that, has more RAM than the VZW version, you can get push e-mail, and if you're not into the hacking, it's got a rather stable UI, that doesn't require a daily soft reset to operate, like the older WinMo equipped phones. That was a screenful.

Does anyone know if the VZW version has the WiFi hardware built into it? I imagine flashing the phone would enable the Wifi option, but if the phone doesn't come w/ the actual Wifi antenna/hardware I guess that won't work....Thanks

Both of them will get the job done for emails, web access and killer organizers. The major difference is the interface (ease of use varies by person so don't believe the "it's easier to use" BS)

BB Storm Pros:
-Best email phone ever with their push email.
-Great battery life
-Plenty of Apps
-Syncs nicely with your PC and iTunes
-Decent browser with copy and paste
-RIM very reliable company
-Great sound quality
-Expandable memory!
-Outstanding mobile office

BB Storm Cons:
-Touch screen typing may get some getting use to (I personally don't have an issue with it)
-May be buggy out the box and needs to be updated
-Accelerometer may take a few seconds to get correct orientation
-The overall OS tends to lag if not updated.
-Lac...

I've had both of these phones.

My first impression of the Touch Pro was tainted by the creaky spring sound coming from the slide, the sub-par feel of the housing, and the large bubble right under the Verizon logo that seems to be on every model. Then I saw what the Touch Pro looks like on other carriers and realized that HTC simply made a different phone for Verizon and called it "Touch Pro."

I work for Verizon. For a long time, in fact. And I've carried the XV6600, 6700, 6800, 6900 (Touch), and 6850 (Touch Pro), and lost my faith in HTC on Touch Pro. If I ever get another WinMo phone it'll be Samsung, who's been consistently better over the years (had most of them, too). Still, you won't be able to pull my Storm from my hands, an...
