Title pretty much says it all.... I really like the way the krave looks as I think its pretty unique, but I have been noticing some bad reviews.. I also have seen that there is a new software update for the krave but it appears that it has to be done through moto's website.. Anyone here with a krave thats happy???

Everything I hear indicates that the Krave is good but the software on it is bad. I do have hopes for the new software! =)

Yeah not too much info on the new software but some of the stuff i did see say its light years better than the old... I like the form factor and was thinking of getting the krave, with the newer software of course...

The Krave with the new software updates is a great phone. I had this phone for about 2 weeks, and returned it due to the lack of speed dial and sometimes glitchy screen (amongst other reasons, but those were my main issues). My mom upgraded to the Krave last week and I got to play around with it for a bit while I set it up for her. Her Krave came with the new software updates and fixes everything I had issues with while I owned it. Now that it has speed dials and improves upon other aspects of the phone's usability, I now regret giving up my old Krave. As a phone, it has the best call quality I've seen for a long time.

Gotta love Motorola. Somewhat glitchy phones that freeze and lock up, but if you can live with that those phones have the best reception of just about any manufacturer!

All that being said . . . how does the software (new or old) possibly make up for the poor design of the flip opening on the left side when using the keyboard and making it impossible for entering text.

I really wanted to like this phone but no way!

Yeah this is the only thing I'm not to happy with.. But if you learn to use your index finger in place of your thumb it works perfectly... Not to mention the itap on this phone is VERY good..Also have to mention that the Krave has AMAZING RF and a extremely loud speakerphone... It also has a completely unique form factor that sets it apart from the rest...

texting with the flip in the way was an issue at first, but after a few days with it, i started typing easier and faster. you can text the way maverick suggested or slide the flip between your index and middle finger to use your left thumb for typing. once i got the hang of it, texting with the flip wasn't an issue. and yes, the krave's iTap is pretty good too.

When I came back to VZW it was because of the Moto Krave ZN4, a clamshell, Moto RF, QWERTY keyboard, and all the reminders...what a let down. 😢

You couldn't calibrate the keyboard, it was inaccurate, the earpice and speaker sounded like they were constantly in a tin can, and the bluetooth kept disconnecting and reconnecting every minute. 😡

I'd had such good experience with Moto's in the past, what a let down.

But I'll give it one more try. Maybe with the new software and me possibly getting a defective unit, the Moto Krave will be all it's suppose to be?

Here's some of the new software features.

Yeah I have the new software... 1 thing I'm noticing is a weird plasticy type sound while using the regular ear piece of the phone... Almost like a clicking... Also seems to take a lot of steps just to send a text message... Might have to just stick with my curve which is PHENOMENAL!!!

Not what I wanted to hear. Hopefully it's just you're handset. 😕

If not, at least I didn't spend too much for one.

Well I just received 2 Moto Kraves off E-bay, my mistake. 🙄
One was advertised as 'new' and to my surprise it came pre loaded with the new and improved software .28
So I'm guess if anyone picks up a new one it should already have the better software.
The second one I had to load the new software myself and it's defiantly an improvement. 😁
But I do agree, if your a heavy texter the flip does get in the way.

If you put the plastic flip between your pointer finger and middle finger the typing is actually really good... It lets your thumb type on the screen completely naturally...
