Explaination of pda plans $39.99 plus $29.99 OR $79.99

Confused about pricing on Verizon's website. Blackberry plans voice and data is listed at $79.99 for 450 minutes----Then when in the store I was told I could have the $39.99 plan and add $29.99 for data for the blackberry. Note the difference in prices for the same thing is $10.00. Does anyone have an explaination or this???

One more question--Does discounts include discounts for data also Or just voice??? I am a nurse and the hospital I work at can get a 20% discount for employeees.

Thanks for the info!!!! 😁

I also noticed the pricing difference when I was looking at the plans recently. I think the difference lies in the fact that the bundles are based on the data price of $45/month. While the consumer BB plan is only $30. It's actually cheaper for most people to just add the BB plan ala carte as opposed to getting it as part of a bundle.

And as far as discounts go, I think it depends on your employer. I get a 15% discount on voice and a 20% discount on data packages through my employer. I would just call customer service or call your local corporate vzw store to inquire about all the discounts that are available.

That is exactly the difference. Publicized on the website is the combination of the 450 minute $39.99 plan and the Unlimited Blackberry or PDA for $44.99. Why? Because it brings in more money. If you are not using corporate e-mail or a BES server, you can get the $39.99 voice plan with the $29.99 data. Don't forget, text messaging will also be additional. As for the discounts...again chris was right. It all comes down to your employer. You can register your line for the company discount while you activate service in store (FINALLY) and they can tell you exactly what your discount will be.

There are 2 different BB Data Plans.

44.99 For Unlimited Data (Use if you have a BB server with your company, or some corporate emails)

29.99 Unlimited for Personal emails ie (yahoo, gmail, hotmail, aol etc etc)

They are going to advertise the 44.99 plan to rake in more data $$$. You'll be fine with the 29.99 plan, now depends on your company IF you get the discount off the data portion, you'll definitely get your discount off your voice service (IE the 39.99)

Hope that helps, enjoy your BB if you get one!

If a user gets the $44.99 Unlimited Data plan for use with their corporate BB server, do they also have access to the personal email accounts (i.e., Yahoo!, Gmail, etc.)?
