Contract or not?
I bought an LG VX-8300. I would like to get it activated. Do I need to sign a contract? The reason I ask is because I heard that if a person buys their own phone then they're not required to sign a contract. Is this correct?

Unfortunately that is incorrect. You would need a contract to get on one of the post pay plans. Only iwth the Inpulse plan do you not require a contract. 😳

if u already had a plan with verizon and still in contract buying a phone outright is the only way to go if ur not due for an upgrade and this will not extend your contract...if u are due for an upgrade and you do not want to resign a contract with VZW agian, you again can buy a phone full retail and have it activated and you will not be signing another contract.
