Just asking.....I have been a loyal Verizon customer for 13 years. However I love really hiTech phones but with out good service. Well its a paper weight. So Sprint has this deal in the Bay Area here in California. Unlimited talk time, Unlimited text and pics, Unlimited Data, No roaming charges thats for the Phone also Included is an air car for a pc and it is also Unlimited data.........the total monthly charge for the Air card(unlimited data) and the Phone and data service (unlimited) is $149.00 a month. The phone I have been using for the past few days is the TOUCH and its amazing.

? Sprint tells me I use Verizon towers if I dont have a sprint signal. If that true then Sprint service would be just as good as Verizon ??????? Yes or No

Well It really depends. In some areas where Sprint gets service, Verizon doesn't. They use each other for roaming.
To me, it sounds like Sprint has a great deal going there. And if you don't have roaming charges, Sprint has the upper hand.

I can assure you they don't always use the same towers. Maybe in an area where Sprint doesn't have a license and Verizon does, but in areas where they both have a license to sell you are going to get Sprint only. They are at the very bottom of each others priority lists and will be very few and far between. Again, in a city or any area where both have service you're only going to get Sprint.

I'm not sure what kind of roaming agreements Sprint & Verizon have, but on the Verizon side, there are very few roaming agreements. So I would not expect most areas to have free roaming with Verizon. In fact, in most markets where both overlap, Verizon would be roaming if a Sprint phone picks up a...

Thoughts Please!

You would think but that's simply not the case, sprint service drops a lot of calls and their overall network is not as robust as verizon's...their capacity is far less. And if you roam off sprint network more than fifty percent sprint will cancel you. I know it looks temping but it has been my experience that its just not worth it. Not to mention the world worst customer care. Their churn is the highest in the industry for a reason, I say stay put. Good luck.

I've actually HAD Sprint in the SF Bay Area, and it wasn't great. Outdoors, the reception was usually okay (though there were some weird 'holes' here in there, even in urban areas, that you'd drive through and drop the call), but indoors was the real problem... reception was very hit-or-miss when I was inside a building of any size. ☹️

Yes, Verizon and Sprint do roam off of each other sometimes, but most of the time that won't matter, 'cuz when Sprint roams off of Verizon towers, they have to PAY Verizon for the privilege. So in an area that has both companies' towers, do you honestly think Sprint is gonna want you to be using a Verizon tower, if they can help it? Nope. You'll be on Sprint towers most of the time, unless you're out in t...
