To all you complaining about speed of phone releases...
Compared to other carriers. Consider this, GSM is used in more countries than CDMA. If you were a phone manufacturer would you build a phone you can sell in 10 countries first or would you build one that you can only sell in 2? I'd go for the larger market first, wouldn't you?

Yes, VZW has a better network, but due to the nature of the wireless industry in other countries, the PHONE MANUFACTURERS are late to the CDMA party with new releases, it's NOT VZW'S fault! Sure, maybe they could push a little harder, but use a little common sense, sometimes it's not VZW's fault that they're second or third to get a new phone. How many BB's does VZW have that there isn't isn't a comparable GSM version that came out first? Not too m...

Thanks for explaining that. All the fanboys just rave about being the best network then say shut up and go port. It was nice to read an explaination that is sensible.
I think a lot of people are inquiring, not complaining because they want to know when/if/what they can expect in the future.
Again, thanks for your resonable post. What the fanboys forget is that a lot of us reading in here are looking for info, they call it complaining, we are not Verizon reps or even in the industry so it is good to be informative not so defensive and rude like so many of those that work for Verizon and post here.

However I will play the other side. Japan has new and good phones and release allot and they are the only one in the world yo use FOMA network. ANd moto has no problem making new phones here so that kid of destroys your logic!

ok samsung releases phones here along with others that release phones in the states to. And moto here are awesome!! I do have to say. ANd you should know I hate motos for CDMA but they make a great WCDMA phone.

You might want to subtract two from that list. Because just in Venezuela (just like the rest of South America) where the two (only) CDMA carriers are switching to GSM just so they could compete with the only GSM carrier that was in the market. Now there's 3 GSM carriers. Do some research on your own. Here, let me help you. Google Movistar (Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela) for a quick start; and tell me which platforms they are using. After you get that. Tell me, what phones are they selling? CDMA? nah.... that's right! GSM!

I believe VZW's music service directly conflicts with the entire idea of the iPhone as a whole. That alone is enough for them to turn them down.

Both answers are correct to me. VZW is the highest revenue generating provider in the U.S. I wouldn't sacrifice that over 1 phone. there will be others who'll come to the dance.
