yea i am up for the new every 2, and have a $100 credit.well i went with a 1 yr contract and lost the $100 . I still have 5 dyas left to change this, so wanted some input on this.Would it have been better to sign the 2year and get a better phone like a530 for 40 bucks, or stay with the 1 year and paid 100 dollars for the Moto v60s

It depends on if you are interested in getting a new phone in 12 months or 24. If you end up not wanting the v60s you can upgrade in 12 months, if you get the samsung and you don't like it you have to wait 24 months. I think it is all about what fits your needs.

I would take the new every two... pick a phone you want! 🙂 I'd go either with the vx4400, vx6000 or the Audiovox 8900. All of them would be free for you (after rebate). Also you can use your new every two feature 2 mos before your contract date ends. : 😳

if you go with the 2 year just make sure you add insurance to your account, so if something happens to your phone once the 12 month warranty runs out you have insurance for back up, otherwise you will have another 12 months with not much options, either pay full retail, see if someone you know has a phone for you to use, shop for one on ebay, or beg verizon for an early upgrade

good advise Chila BUT only take the insurance out for the 2nd year. OR most verizon stores have a "quick exchange" for only $50. I did that with my startac before i extended for 2 years and got the great deal on my samsung a530. dont spend for insurance until you have to.

for the second year? Huh that must be a region restriction, I take calls for the northeast and you have to add insurance within the first 7 days of purchasing new phone, you are not able to add it later or anytime after the 7 days are up, good advice to jpg also some regions do offer a type of quick exchange but not in northeast.

Here in the west we can add it immediately at any time.

It is the insurance company that sets when you can add the insurance to an account. In the VA region you used to be able to add it at anytime but the insurance company changed and it is 7 days now.

Insurance is a good idea right from the start. If you loose, break your phone then it's replaced for a small fee. If you don't have insurance and loose a phone it's going to cost between 150 and 400 for a new phone. It's worth the $3.99 mo, especially if your child has a phone too.

let us not forget that there is a $50 deductable that goes with the insurance and at $4 a month it is a push in most cases. the better gamble is to risk losing the phone for the first 12 months then it becomes worthwhile for the 2nd year since there is no warranty. big question is: do u pay $50 deductable for a broken phone or do you pay $50 for an express exchange? since i have had a handheld phone for many years, going back to the LA Cellular and AirTouch days. my first handheld cost me $1500. Anyone remember those days? I think my second phone cost about $1200. AH memories. My first VCR cost over $1500. and now people bitch about a $200 phone and want them all to be free. I have never lost one yet or broken one. i have had some defective ...

look at it this way. you have to have cellular service with someone. verizon is a very good company. take the new every two. what is the worst thing that can happen? you pay a $175 cancellation fee. better gamble than paying the $100 for a phone.
you may want to try and see what verizon will do to keep you if you tell them you want to cancel your service and go to another company. they made me a fantastic deal to keep me for 2 more years. i got two new a530s phones free with one extra accessory plus a $30 rebate on
each phone and an extra $100 credit on my bill the following month. 2 new phones free plus $160. I love my samsung a530s.
