iPhone Killer spotted yet?

I was just wondering, from what VZW CEO said, it sounded like VZW would respond soon after the iPhone release with an iPhone Killer. But I haven't seen much of anything (not on the other posts either) that seem like an iPhone "killer." Does anyone know or have a definite idea what it will be?

The iPhone is already dead.

Until Verizon lets go of their strangle hold on their phones they will not have a phone that will beat even the iPhone.

You know what I don't understand? If you hate Verizon so much, why are you in this forum? Like, I complain about things in here, but when the day ends, I'm still glad I'm with Verizon. If you don't think Verizon will have an iPhone killer, then go somewhere else. Right?

I would imagine that part of the delay comes from the Qualcomm ban. That was only recently resolved for Verizon. Will they have an iPhone "killer?" Not necessarily, but they'll have some that do the same things. I heard they were getting the HTC Touch.

Its not going to gather GSM converts until Verizon allow their phones to tether to a PC for file transfer and folder reorganizing through BT or even USB.

Its ALL bout the PHONES now more then ever. There in is Verizon's achilles heel,

Tomorrows cutomers are todays kids who are more about the Phone then the "network". They will put up with a less than satisfactory network for the extra features they can control on the phones,

Big Brother Verizon will have to let go at some point, or lose tomorrows customers,

'Tomorrow's customers' eventually grow up and become adults, parents, and business people. And then they start to care more about the SERVICE, than the phones.

That said, Verizon does need to improve in the phones area.

At the rate ALL the major networks are increasing in reliability and size, when those kids grow up it wont matter what network they choose. IMHO, by then our wireless industry will be much more like they are overseas.

I don't think the majority of the people buying the iPhone are doing it for the applications. They're doing it for status. If they were doing it for applications, they wouldn't be buying an iPhone, they would be buying a smart phone, that has many more capabilities.

I just dumped all my photos off of my phone through bluetooth last night. Many others can do the same, many of the new phones have these profiles unlocked, the only thing you can't do really is send ringtones, which is easily worked around using a data cable or simply sending them through as a pix message. As far as cripling goes the iphone is one of the worste in the industry, and you can't use all the hack threads to combat this, because then you must know most verizon that don't allow file transferd can be hacked as well, and as far ...

I don't think the HTC Touch will be an iPhone killer. It doesn't have the sleek appeal that the iPhone does. It has better features, but that's hardly good enough to put a popular phone out of commission. Just look at the RAZR.

The iPhone isn't a PDA. It's the inbetween of a PDA and a phone. Like a Phone and a half.

The LG touchscreen phone/pda is coming. It was suppose to be here at the end of Summer but might be delayed due to the Qualcomm ban. We have no idea what it will be called or specs but its based on the LG Prada.

More likely based on the KS20.

I have my doubts that it will even come to the US.
