Call me clueless i guess, but I've been researching phones on this very website and I don't see why Verizon always gets a bad wrap for a poor selection of phones. What do gsm phones have to offer that verizon doesn't?

You are absolutely right. Verizon seems to get slammed an awful lot. I have used Nextel before Verizon and Cingular when it was CellularOne, and neither even came close. Nextel was the pits and is still pretty weak, at least in my area. Verizon has consistently been rated number one in terms of coverage area and customer satisfaction. If you don't believe it, look at Consumer Reports February 2004 issue where they rate cell carriers and equipment. I'll tell you one thing, leave Verizon for any other carrier and you'll wish you never did.

By far, Verizon has the best service. However, they are the slowest when it comes to releasing new phones. The reps at VZW all tell me that they take so long in releasing phones because they want to make sure that the phone(s) is "perfect".
Well, my question is: How the hell did they release the Moto V710. That phone is pure garbage!
...Also, Why are they waiting so long to release the Kyocera KOI and the LG VX8000??!!!
Listen, I agree, if you want the best service then get (or stay with) VZW. It is not worth changing (Even with this phone issue). But don't tell me that their phone selection or release process is superior to most others. In that regard, they are one of the worst!

Be careful not to confuse service with coverage. Nobody can dispute the breadth of vzw's coverage, but we can debate the quality of service, both phone service and customers service. In that regard (as JD Power himself just said) T-Mobile is superior in every market in America.
