Another CDM-8900 Quesiton

I just bought the Audiovox CDM-8900. I noticed that my phone does not show the "digital mode icon" to inform me that the phone is in digital mode. But I DO get an icon showing me that the phone is in the "1x service area." How come the "digital mode icon" does not show up on my phone? Does my phone automatically assume it is in Digital Mode without showing the icon? Whoever knows the answer to that, just reply back to this message board. Thanks

Most of the phones now show the 1x icon instead of the d for digital. The 1x stands for the 1xrtt network.

If you have a digital signal that is not 1x, then your phone will probably display a D instead

That is correct, if it says "1x" then you are on the Verizon Wireless Express Data network.
If you go to extended digital you will see a small box with a "D" in it along with a flash box with a triangle in it. If you are on digital roaming it will display the box with the "D" in it along with a NON-Flashing boz with a triangle in it.
