Trial Period?????

Dec 27, 2003, 10:41 PM
I just purchased a moto v60s from my local dealer. Today when I was in the store the arrogant and obviously stressed out immature sales "boy" told me that I am stuck with this phone and could not return it during fifteen day trial period. The "boy" had told me that I had purchased 4 phones this year and returned them all during the 15 day trial period. I do admit to this. When I purchase a NEW phone I expect it to be better than the NEW phone I purchased over a year earlier. Verizon has not come out with REAL phones since I can remember. I have been with them since 1994 when it was Bell Atlantic Mobile (also when they treated you like a customer). All there phones lately are toys designed for children. The phones I returned were the LG6000, ...

go to manager at store, sales boy will probably be fired.also it doesnt matter how many phones you got and returned, each time is a new transaction.also the esn change is not a transaction for return.i went thru this in september on doing esn changes on web site between phones i own, they tried to say i had did 59 or so exchanges in 4 week period.what idiots, their computer makes it look like you actually had gotten and returned that amount of phones.no codes in computer to show otherwise, dont even know if shows esn numbers,so that they can see how many phones there was.also dont do esn changes if coming up on contract ending and planing on getting a new phone with new every two.will have to fight verizon over this. just take phone back to a man...

You are right on one point, and wrong on the other.

Verizon systems CAN see how many changes were done to a phone line, which DOES include the ESN numbers. I had an account which showed 30 different ESNs in 2 years. Our system only allows 3 ESN changes on an account per 24 hour period, or 3 changes period to the account. Example, adding voicemail is 1 change, then deciding later that day you don't want voicemail, that's now 2 changes. Sucks, but that is the limitation.

The correct thing is the "boy" was wrong. Ask the manager about the "worry free guarantee". You are allowed, within 15 days, to change out the phone if you are not satisfied. You are however, still binding by your contract. If you buy a phone and you are 60 days into it ...

Funny, our systems here at AT&T allow us to make as many changes as the customer sees fit. The only restriction being our systems update at night and cannot make changes at that time, but we can set reminders to have it done later.

Worry free gaurantee is really a crock LOL.

1. 'Largest, most advanced nationwide network.'
Okay I'll give you THAT one. Name me anything exept your network you exceed in? And besides.. I don't need a phone that works in the middle of squirldick colorado. I need a phone that works in NY City, etc LOL.

2. No other company charges a fee that i know of.. just marketing shpeal. Verizon pro-rates their plan changes too.. which is a crock. AT&T Wireless doesn't prorate, they backdate the plans to the beginning...

maybe if phones actually worked, you wouldnt need to get new phones every six months.phones should last at least a year or two.but what do you expect from gsm, crappy service, junk phones, one of the worst csr in business.systems that are down every time you call in for problems,or even to upgrade to the gsm system.also they dont advertise the one call resolution because it would give customers something to sue them over since it would be marketing fraud.good luck when your att ws last customer or when cingular buys out att ws.one of these two things are bound to happen with all of their customer lose. this is to moobak, moo

Dude, why do you get on here just to bash Verizon? As if ATT even compares? Please, find something better to do than sit here and make us dumber with your stupid comments.

Many customers like to change their phone every 6 months and not because their old one doesn't work. What do we expect from GSM?? Are you stupid mitchell1? GSM is the system used by countries far more advanced than the prehistoric united states of America. There cell phones service far exceeds yours, and that's where the future lies. Systems are not down every time you call in. Admittedly the system SUCKS, but please don't exaggerate facts. One call resolution isn't advertised a lot because at AWS it's expected, why advertise something that's expected?? Also, they still have one contact resolution with GSM service, meaning that one rep handles the call unlike some stories about other companies. Cingular doesn't have the funds to buy...

Cingular doesnt have the funds to buy attws? Last time I checked, the parent companies of Cingular are SBC and Bellsouth, their cash on hand is outragous and their stock prices are about 2 1/2 times that of attws. Yeah they can buy attws but the fact is do they want to buy their debt?

As far as HUGE problems with T-Mobile? T-Mobile doesnt want their indirects to sell Cingular because they know themselves that their product doesnt match up with that of Cingulars. Giving away a gang of anytime minutes doesnt make up for your faults.

just means thet cingular is in the process of buying att wireless out.it will happen.as for gsm in europe, they are going to start updateing the technology because cdma has been shown to be better and they consider gsm to be getting outdated, germany, franceand spain are starting the process of updating to wcdma, which is just a version of cdma.so you can say all you want about gsm,but it is already a old technology.and all countrys are in the process of starting to update to as close as to cdma as possible.so wait and see what happens.also way att is going they will be sold to someone.but at least in a year or so they will have to change their name.lease is up on name and att corp.cant wait.wireless is making them look bad.

Verizon does have a great network, it just sounds like you have had a bad experience with the sales person who sold you the phone. If you ask for the manager of that store they should get it resolved. If you are looking for a good phone the LG 4400 or the audiovox 8600 are very good phones that are tri-mode and get good reception.

Good luck.

The 15 day WFG applies only to direct stores and not authorized agents or retailers. Also, only 1 exchange is permitted within 15 days of the original date of purchase.
The LG-VX6000 is a very well made, quality phone. As well as the Audiovox 8900 (which is Tri-mode).

I think your being too nit picky and you shouldn't be able to exchange phone, after phone, after phone.

Esn changes show wether they were upgrade with 2 yr discount, New every 2, request by customer or done via internet etc..

Thank you, robbie0517 for clearing that up.

Yes, the WFG does NOT apply to indirect or phones even purchased on eBay. Those phones are considered "Customer Owned" and ONLY have a 1-year manufacturer warranty, with receipt. Some indirect stores still sell phones, even AFTER Verizon has stopped selling a model for a while.

And yes, only ONE exchange PER 15 DAYS!! I saw that my message wasn't clear on that. You can buy a new phone AFTER the 15-day period and exchange THAT NEW phone within the second 15-day period, if needed.

Robbie is right...Don't keep exchanging phones, JUST TO "TRY" them out. Do some research and choose a phone that BEST suits your needs and coverage. Unless you really like going into Verizon stores all the time (s...
