Verizon and delayed voicemail

ArmchairQB

Our company recently switched our sales force over to Verizon from ATT. I have been getting complaints from them that they are not getting voicemails for hours even days (4days!) later. Thinking maybe it was something to do with the Samsung phones I called Verizon. The Verizon rep informed me that yes this is very possible with any phone and is due to going in and out of their network and delays of a few days are possible!!!!!! What!!! What is the point of having voicemail if you get it days after it was sent! Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any way around this? I find this to be totally unacceptable for business use if this is the case.

Thats bullcrap. Tell them to forward you to technical support so they can refresh your registration in the system. The phone has nothing to do with it, and day long delays are NOT typicial, unless you're in areas with no servce

Is it possible that the phones are roaming onto affiliate networks where enhanced services like message waiting indicators are not supported? Here in Vermont Verizons network ends in central southern Vermont and US Cellular operates and 800 meg CDMA network in southern Vermont... Verizon customers do not get message waiting, text, or PTT there...
The Verizon customer will get the indicator when they re-register on the "Verizon" network.
Is it also possible that Verizons network(s) are not at the same stage of evolution and traveling throughout them functionality varies?... All I know is when you offer the knuckleheads at the call centers a theory you have on why you have a problem (like the Samsung phone deal) they will run with it... It i...

This is obviously common knowledge that the phone does not store the voice mail... If you took the time to READ what I wrote you would see that I offered a several valid possibilities for receiving delayed voice mail waiting indicators... What I referred to with call centers could probably have been better said this way: When you call customer service for your carrier and the call rolls over to some second or third party answering service, not actually in your carriers employ, it is simpler for them to agree with your misunderstanding than it is to identify the real problem. The top message indicated that customer service told them it was a problem with their Samsung phone... I beg to differ. When I call Verizon form the northeast and I get ...

Good, at least the pointless bickering has ended. Delayed vm is not normal. It is a fixable problem as long as certain conditions are not present e.g. analog or roaming signal.
