I don't know with the LG 8300 its menu then 000000 then preferences and you can set it for 1x. why you wanna do that? How is that phone I never heard much about it, good reception? Did you check hofo?

Ther 7 0's menu is only for LG phones. Without SEEM edit, there is no way to set to 1x only. He probably wants it 1x only because he doesn't have EVDO coverage and wants to save battery life.

if he doesn't have evdo coverage then the phone won't go into evdo and hence not have the less of battery life. So, I would say he does have evdo coverage but wants that turned off to save battery. I have only seen a difference if you are on the fringe area of evdo. Otherwise, I have seen a little less battery life...but not by much.

Thanks all. I have a LG 8300 and know about the menu. I was trying to set my wife's Nokia to 1X only as EVDO in my area is sketchy and it drains the battery. After I set my phone to 1X only it increased the battery life. Thanks for info I apprediate it. Oh yeah, I posted this on HoFo as well.... 😁

pretty sure there is no way to do it with SEEM editing it. And SEEM is very risky. 1 mistake could f' up your phone big time.
