Developers not focus on Thunderbolt
I'm not disagreeing with you on the phone needing to be kept at the forefront of app development and updating, but your argument and/or conspiracy is entirely incorrect. The phone has NEVER been called a DROID.

...Verizon is now saying the Samsung is the first Droid phone to take on the 4G LTE. the TB is a droid phone too. ...
Not to nit-pick, but the Thunderbolt is not a Droid. It is an Android phone, but not a Droid.
Android is Google's smartphone platform.
Droid is a Verizon brand that they use for some of their Android phones.
