WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU VERIZON?

All of a sudden, Verizon has nothing but lame Smartphones. I am so embarrassed that they basically reinvented the wheel with the Droid X2 instead of moving forward with a LTE Moto.

Yes, the other carriers SUCK when it comes to their 3/4G networks, but gosh almighty, look at their equipment. Sprint will have a 3D phone, ATT already has beat Verizon with their Moto thin LTE phone (which is getting pretty good reviews).

NO, I am NOT leaving Verizon, but come on, it is time to kick it in HIGH GEAR!! Has someone lame recently received a promotion that should NOT be there when it comes to picking and choosing new equipment at Verizon Headquarters? If you do not believe me, look at the phones the other carriers are now offering.

Again...

This has been one of the most common complaints that i have heard from Verizon customers over the years. Verizon has rarely been on the leading edge of devices, instead relying on a solid network and devices (for the most part) that work and work well. They may never be on the leading edge of handset technology but i've found that the devices they do offer are pretty decent. The X2 is definately just a refresh. If you have an X right now i wouldn't upgrade from that phone to an X2, for sure. I don't believe a dual-core processor and a sharper screen is worth $200 and another 2 yr agreement.

Splinter,

I absolutely agree with your comments.

First off, the network is par none. Other carriers pretend to come close, but they cannot, no matter how they try to convince the common man.

But just think 'if' VzW ALSO turned to provide the leading edge with their devices, how much more (possibly) they could win customers over to them? They would provide and offer everyone with the best of both worlds!
VzW quit being so conservative!!

Again, I am not calling the current devices crap or junk, etc. They are very good devices but just not that exciting it seems. Yes, I guess I have turned to be a Moto fan because of the Droid X, the slimness, the screen, even right down to the orange camera button! I just hope for that future...

Put the Kool-Aid down and walk away. To say that anyone's network is the best is lunacy. It's all still local. In my area Sprint is the best of the national 4 while T-Mobile comes in a close 2nd. For voice calling and LTE footprint, Metro PCS is on par with Verizon in my area.

As far as devices go, Verizon has come a long way lately. Gone are the days of waiting years for something comparable to the latest and greatest. As the LTE footprint gets larger and more reliable I expect good things from a device perspective.

So how exactly did they "beat" Verizon with a phone that has no network available to utilize it's capabilities.

If OP is talking about the Moto Atrix, then, I'm sorry for bursting your bubble, but that phone is HSPA+, not LTE. Not the sane thing

So, within the first few sentances made by the OP he talks about the LTE phone for AT&T.

So, you FAIL.

Next time read the OP before bursting my bubble.

Come on man, it's silly to say that at&t doesn't have a network. I will be the first to say that in most locations, Verizon has a stronger signal than at&t, but that certainly doesn't mean they don't have a network. Criticize if you want, but at least make it be realistic about it.

What AT&T LTE phone are you smoking -- I mean looking at?

YES, I deserve the critics lashing out there. I was looking at Sprints phones, not ATT. 🤭

Again, VzW (IMO) is the best. I just hope that something (moreso) cool comes around the corner very soon. I realize that it is sometimes hard to keep reinventing the wheel or should I say the thicker LTE plastic 'Black Slab'.

The 3D phone looks pretty cool though. I wonder if VzW will or would pick up on that technology.

3g is still a "wow factor" tech, with very few real world applications.

IMO, there are two phones others have that I want Verizon to have:

HTC Sensation (Tmobile)

Samsung Galaxy S 2 (Tmobile)

Im personally not a big fan of moto loved the razr but nothing else since. should look into htc offerings for verizon. like the htc incredible my favorite phone or the new incredible 2. both have 8mp cameras on the back. and the incredible 2 has a forward facing camera, or the current phone i have the htc thunderbolt which i also love. 8mp camera and 1.3mp camera on the front. lte speeds in lte areas, and a very fast 1ghz single core processor which can be overclocked if rooted to 1.4 or 1.8ghz.

Newsflash: You are not Verizon's only customer. They're not releasing every phone just for YOU.

If they did put LTE in the X2, what would make it any different from the Thunderbolt and the Charge? Then you would just be in here complaining about how "all the high end phones are exactly the same..."

Verizon isn't catering to a single demographic. They're not Apple.

Options are a good thing.

NEWSFLASH back to you, maybe they SHOULD learn LESSONS from Apple, huh?

They seem to be doing pretty good $$$$$$$$ these days.

And yes, maybe they SHOULD also listen to the 'simple small man's voice' for once? Instead of what they 'think' we might like.

I for one do not understand the infatuation customers have with "4G". It does not guarantee better connectivity (from a location standpoint). It does handle data faster, but that really only benefits the carrier, by allowing more customers to simultaneously access the data network. I really don't care if I am downloading data at 5mBs vs. 18Mbs. I can't count that fast anyway.

Granted, as the smartphone airways become more crowded with 4G customers it will be necessary as a convenience, but that is really a couple of years away- for now it shouldn't be a negative if a phone is 3G or 4G. By the time we really "need" it, we will all be eligible for an upgrade anyway. Just my 2 cents worth.

Phone lesson from Apple: Make only one product so that no one has a choice. If you want an Apple product, go buy one.

Verizon has no desire to be a one trick pony, regardless of how good the tricks are.

So, Verizon clearly is not catering to your every whim.

Feel free to get an account with some other phone company. The variety and power of available devices on the Verizon network is not a shortfall. The only thing they l...

But they typically don't listen to the type of "small man" that is prone to complain on a forum online because those customers are in the EXTREME minority of users.

It is NOT good business sense for Verizon (or any company) to spend a lot of money making sure these extreme minorities are happy. Law of diminishing returns comes into play.

You want them to "Listen to apple"

Fine. Then you have ONE phone choice, period. You don't like it, tough because that's all you get.

You STILL want them to listen to apple?

Come to Sprint, then.

Or, better yet, get prepaid. You know nothing about lame smartphones unless you get one of the prepaid carriers.

I hope vzw customers aren't really like this. Saying that Verizon has nothing but lame smartphones is like saying McDonalds only has stale fries...
