I've been out of the loop as far as phones go for a couple years now, so I need some help. I'm currently using a Blackberry Storm and I really like the OS and touch screen however I have been looking at some Android based phones for my next upgrade. Can anyone give me some advice? I love Blackberry but would be willing to switch if properly convinced.

Just get any decent Android (Moto Droid, Droid X, HTC Incredible) and don't look back...stay away from LG completely. People say there is a learning curve; but coming from a blackberry there is no learning curve. BBs are slow and don't have the apps the Android Market does. My email is flawless. Just ask someone at the store to give you a 5 minute run through and you're good. I have an HTC and for the first time in my life haven't wanted to change my phone after 6 months. I know many people with Droids, a few with Incredibles, and one person with a Droid X (amazing) and I can't imagine having anything else, especially a blackberry 😁

I've never owned a BlackBerry so I can't compare, but I did just get the new Motorola Droid X last week. This phone is simply amazing. It seems to be a great balance between a business/productivity phone, and a multimedia/entertainment phone. It has been really easy to learn and it just seems to do everything really well (and FAST). I would highly recommend either the Droid X or the HTC Incredible.

Hmm...lemme think about that. I've gotten a few useful tools like a nicer clock, a scientific calculator, currency converter, tip calculator, DroidLight (flashlight)..etc. But I've also gotten some fun stuff too. I like the Labyrinth game, solitaire, Throttle Copter Robo Defense and a few others. I have a few new active wallpapers to dress it up. Oh and I also have the full Bible and Dictionary! That's what I love about the phone; you can personalize it big-time and if you start to get bored, just download more stuff!

I'm pretty sure my wife of 23 years wouldn't like that.

I am sure you are correct about that, but life would be VERY interesting. That's for sure. Twenty-three years? Seriously, congratulations! Most people are luck to make it ten.

I had a blackberry storm and was very comfortable with it. When it came time to upgrade, I chose the Motorola Droid over the Blackberry Storm 2. After I placed the order, I had some regret. That regret lasted until about 30 minutes after I got the Droid.

The web browsing on the android is a totally different experience than the blackberry. I would give the email experience as an edge to blackberry, but only slightly. Texting, camera and apps all go to android hands down. I've since moved to the droid incredible and it really is an "incredible" phone.

What is the deal with the Droid being $149.99 with a 2 year contract? Isn't the phone a year old by now?

It's BOGO'd so they're really only $75 each (by the pair). I was tempted to get a pair but I want either a good keyboard or no keyboard at all. Guess I'll just keep waiting for a 3.7"+ slab with an LCD screen.

No way. I am sure that the thing was $49.99 with a BOGO at one point. It's gone back up and with an Incredible or Droid X just $50 more that is a deal killer.
