smartphones
I really want to get a smartphone, but am not eligible for an upgrade yet. My business cell phones are on a Sprint plan which is over. My question is , can I get a smartphone on a new business plan with Verizon and then activate on my personal plan and transfer a phone over to the business account?

Are you asking if you can buy a Verizon phone and put it on a Sprint plan?

No, My contract with Sprint is monthly now. I can get out anytime with no ETF. My question is if I open a new business contract with Verizon, and get 4 phones for the new contract, can I get a HTC Droid off the new contract and then use the droid on my personal plan that I currently have with Verizon, and a one old phone to replace the Droid on the business plan?

It sounds like you want to do an ESN switch after setting up the account. As long as you own both the personal, and through your company, the business account, there's nothing that will keep you from doing it. In most cases, a rep will even help you set it up.

It's a 3 step process....
1) Use a dummy ESN on your personal account (this frees up the basic phone's ESN).
2) Use the basic phone's ESN on your business account (this frees up the smartphone's ESN).
3) Use the smartphone's ESN on your personal account (all done).

Not sure if you need to do that any more. I can do ESN swaps at work without having to do dummy ESN numbers anymore. Other systems might handle this the same way now, but I haven't tried (such as an ESN change on My Verizon).

The dummy ESN isn't required. You'll get an alert that advises you that the ESN/MEID is already active on another account, but it'll allow the change to go through if you want to proceed. As long as you remember to do the other ESN change, you're fine. I mean, if you have an ESN/MEID on two lines, then I believe that the first one has priority, so it'll never authenticate on the second one.

Yeah, that's what I said.
