Ignore Unknown/Blocked calls ????
is there any phone, carrier, software that will simply not ring/vibrate if the caller is unkwown or blocked (and/or the number is not in my phonebook)
Just send blocked or unknowns to my voicemail, i don't even want to know they are calling

The closest I've come to this was on my Blackberry where I specified that nothing ring when a call is received from a specific number. It still showed up in my call log, but I never had to listen to the ringer/vibrate.
Not sure how you'd do that for an unknown caller.

So if, God forbid, a loved one is rushed to the hospital and they try to call you you'll miss the "unknown" call. You might want to think this one through a little better.

Actually I think a lot of them will do this, especially the LG's. Look in phone security. It's more of a feature made for parental controls, but will work. You can restrict incoming or outgoing calls or both to phonebook only.

The other way to do this is with Usage Controls which is 4.99 a month per line. You can add it for awhile and take it off to see if that will stop those people from calling you. You need to set this up thru your My Verizon

Motorola used to have a feature in their phones for exactly what you're looking for. I'm not sure if they still do or not. It's a "security" option.

There are call blocking applications available. I have used iCallManager light on my BlackBerry Curve. You can create black lists and white lists or reject unknown callers. This particular program isn't perfect. You still get a very short audible beep when an unknown caller is rejected. There are other applications out there. Good luck. I hate being harassed by blocked/unknown callers.
