STORM 2--not in VZW stores

I went to the store to get my STORM 2 and it was not available. I came home and it is online. Why isn't it in the stores yet? I thought today was the release date? I am curious if the deal is better online since it is an INSTANT rebate. Normally in store is mail in rebate, right?

We have several in my store, not sure if you're going to a corp store or not.

In store is a MIR, pricing is the same. Support your local store, so that VZW will hopefully give us a better commission payout, before the good people leave for better paying jobs, and you're left with people that are more worried about the latest txt, than your needs!

^

Seriously, 60% of my time is spent helping people with tech related issues (or listening to them complain about not being able to get a new free phone after junior dropped theirs in the toilet after they declined insurance), or with people who are "just looking" because they can get a better deal online. Know what this nets me? Nothing.

And yet if I refused to help anyone but my own customers, or told the online buyers to "just look" online instead of tracking mud on my carpets, you know they would be yammering about how "poor" customer service is, and how verizon needs to fix it.

I'm sorry, but verizon pays me nothing for customer service. I'm happy for provide it in the hopes that people will actually BUY something from me in...

And don't come in expecting us to swap everything over to your new phone for free. If you come to my store and buy a phone at my store, I will swap everything over for free. If you don't and expect me to do it for free, forget it! I will charge you the $10.00 to do it.

In parts of the west Verizon took our transfer capabilities away. We don't have Cellebrites anymore - a recent change.

Now, you have to actually do contacts yourself and save a trip to the store so we can spend time worrying about other things.

Should be popular with customers.. Hope they do it here so I can stop hearing "if I went to the corp store they do it for free"

I got word this morning that Verizon's finally figured out that they should have data fee for downloading Backup Assistant. If that information is correct, it should be fixed moving forward.

They have always charged you to download it if you didn't have a data plan, but to use it is free (with My Verizon account).

Let me clarify.

I had heard that Verizon had finally decided to waive the MB charge for downloading Backup Assistant, in addition to the waiver for being a MyVerizon subscriber.

I found the error in this message. It should have read, "I got work this morning that Verizon's finally figured out that they should have NO data fee for downloading Backup Assistant..."

Sorry.

I wanted to see it in the store before I made my decision, that's all. Just was wondering about the difference in the deals that you get online versus in thes tore.

I was a little concerned about purchasing it in the store ONLY because of what happened to me a few months ago. I brought my Blackberry Curve in to have it turned back on (I returned the TOUR). Everything "seemed" to go smoothly until I went to use the phone and it was dialing from a different number than mine. The guy in the Verizon store hooked my CURVE up to a different number and left my number (I assume) on the TOUR that I had returned. It was really a pain to get switched back because I had already left the store and it was about 30 minutes back to the store so I h...

Verizon management is steering customers toward online purchases because it costs the company less if you upgrade or purchase online.
