OMNIA 2 or Touch Pro 2?

SHIVA

Hi, I am planning to get a new WMP 6.5 phone as soon VZW make 6.5 available.

Although I like the TP2 and been waiting for it, the new Omnia 2, looks damn good.

Pls correct me, but it seems to have better screen (brighter, higher rez). Better camera and video. And of course it's lighter and thinner.

Besides the slideout keyboard what would I be missing by passing on TP2, vs the O2?

Thanks very much,

It all comes down to if you want a full QWERTY or not. I think the Omnia 2 will be great, but th eTP2 is a great phone too.

Yeah

Wait till it comes out, how can people give you advice on what to buy if the item is not even available yet?

Hey what do you think of the Wii 2?

although the phone is not out yet, VZW people would know about it and can offer advice.

I like the slimmer profile of the O2, but from the reviews it seems that it has a cheap feel.

Don't know too much about Wii2... sorry.

...yes, but, Verizon people won't know if there's a high return rate, or if there's common defects or problems, or what customers like or don't like when a phone isn't released yet on the network

I am not asking if the phone is a lemon. I am asking the differences between the TP2 and O2 and which would be a better choice, realizing full well that one has a slide out keyboard.

Speaking of high return rate, on a whim I went to a VZW store to look at the TP2, not realizing it was only available on line The rep told me that they have a high return rate. When I asked if it is because of problems with the phone, he said it was a great phone, but too complicated for most people, so they return it.

How can we end users know which is true: junk phone, or end users just not knowing how to use it?

Thank you!

Gregg

I always felt sorry for customers when I pulled up their accounts and they were in a piece like the Razr or Q and were outside of their WFG period. Then if they asked if their phone was a good phone... (Mental sigh) "Yes! It sure is!" (Thinking): Well Verizon labels them Good, Better, Best...so by that definition it is certainly a "Good" phone.

That the Touch Pro 2 is out, and most of us have handled the phone by now, after D-Filling them. 😉

So how is the reception compared to the omnia 2? How well does the omnia 2's touch screen work? What is the O2's battery life?

I mentioned anything about the Omnia 2 before now.

But, since you asked:

The Omnia should have better reception, battery life may be weaker, as specs have it arriving with a smaller battery. Based on the Rogue, which has the same screen, I would expect response to be wonderful and quick.

Care to continue down the path of "douche"?

I hope it is better than the Omnia 1, which is a real pain in the butt phone. I have had it about a year, and I like it less each day.

Haven't held the Omnia 2, and I don't have an official feature list, however, two obvious things things: harware keyboard and Wifi, and I think global functionality, all in favor of the Touch Pro 2.

Having used a VZW Touch Pro 2 now, and compared it side by side with my Touch Pro (Alltel), I can say that the TP2 is an excellent device. HTC found a way to make the phone a little more special, while using the same hardware.

I saw the TP2 at TMobile and this is one sweet phone. I thought it was gonna be heavy, thick and large, but it's basically the same size as the i760... very impressed by how compact it is...
