Exchange Question.

I have a question for the individuals who work in the corp. stores? What is the exchange policy? I purchased the Moto w755 on Saturday, but had problems with that phone. Exchanged that for the Omnia. The features and that are great, but I am not quite sure that this is for me. Am I stuck with this phone or can I again pay a restocking fee and exchange the phone? Thanks for all the answers.

Sounds like your first phone was defective? If this is the case you exchanged that one as it was DOA. I would do the exhange...but yes there would be a 35.00 restocking fee and you could not do another exchange. I would think the 2nd exchange has nothing to do with a defect in the phone but a personal preference for wanting to do the exchange. That is why I feel the fee would be warranted on the next exchange, but not on the first.

Exchange 1 time with 30 days from original purchase date. restocking fee applies.

In some cases( very few and far between) if a customer is a VIP you may be able to get an extra exchange but again this is out of the norm.

The first exchange was not due to the customer not liking the phone...it was due to a defective phone. I would say that exchange did not count.

you would be correct as long as the exchange was for the same device. Having gone with a "better" phone thus warranting the restocking fee.

If I had someone come in with a defective phone that they just bought, I would kindly switch them to something else and not charge the restocking fee. This person would probably have zero confidence in the device they bought then. Although the W755 is a reliable phone...

I was not trying to be ornery just stating the policy.

While I see your point, only a manager can override the restocking fee. Its not your call but the store manager's call ( if you are the store manager my apologies). In the district I worked in we actually had to escalalte to Distict level.

Unfortunately at this point the subsidy for this customer is up wards of $900.00 ( this is a guess as I have no way of knowing the cost of each device as I'm not in a store right now). It will take over 2 years to recover just the subsidy cost.

Chances of a customer receiving a second defective w755 was slim to none. For a lot or bathc issue not likely especially when corporate stores move their inventory quickly.

BTW wasn't the motorola...
