Why don't VZW employees get discounts at Best Buy?
I went into a Best Buy store, made my purchase and showed my employee badge to get a discount (figuring that since Best Buy emp's get a discount on our service, I would get something on their's) well the clerk said she couldn't take my badge and then the manager said we (vzw emps) don't get any discounts with Best Buy! WTF?! 👿 I then researched and found that vzw emps don't get any discounts with Circuit City either!

Giving away a discount on service cost verizon pretty much nothing, hell I get 15% off verizon through my employer. however, if Best Buy gives verizon employees a discount, the discount could be astronomical
Say 10% off of a $3000 TV--Thats $300 on one purchase.
Also, with the discounts on service, only the people who work in the wireless dept get those discounts. Thats maybe 3-5 people. The average number of people that work in a verizon corporate store is prolly 12-15. Once again, increasing the financial burden for Best Buy.

I do have to admit that a Best Buy discount would be awesome. I'd spend alot of money there. I don't right now because they are actually pretty expensive.

That's not correct. ANY Best Buy or Circuit City employee gets a discount with Verizon Wireless, regardless of department. And no, it wouldn't financially kill Best Buy or Circuit City. There are several companies that offer discounts if you work for a specific company and they're not getting killed.

Actually I’m a current customer and my only complaint is the complete lack of knowledgeable staff in the VZW stores I have visited in the last few months while trying to decide on a new phone. I paid full retail for my last phone and am really trying to find someone that can tell me the differences in the current Smartphone line up but apparently that person doesn’t exist.
