Employee Accounts

Has anybody noticed that whenever Verizon Wireless says that "enhancements" have been made to Verizon employee accounts this always means a price increase is on the way? I noticed that the grand poobahs are doing away with the $5.00 200 min pkgs offered only a few months ago and forcing employees to go to one of the higher priced "consumer plans" with discount. The "enhanced" plans do not include unlimited messaging like we used to get on our calling plans.

I guess the execs who decided to pinch a few more pennies from employees after taking away our Long Term Incentives by increasing the costs of our employee calling plans do not realize that many of us just have the 5.00 package so that we can have a VZW phone on hand to help out cus...

Interesting you say that. If I change to one of the new plans with my family share, I save $10. Plus, now we will be able to have 5 lines instead of 4, and they eliminated the requirements for one of those lines to be a data device. Win-win for me.

Were you on the A.C.II employee plan which included unlimited texting on the primary line? If so then you really will not be saving anything if you still want unlimited texting...

we don't even get the same benefits of the customers, ie. we will be forced to change to the nationwide plans while they will be grandfathered in. The price of my plan will rise from $18 to $37.50 for the same features. I could get a Sero plan with Sprint for cheaper than that. Thanks for nothing who ever handles the Employee Phone Program.

Not to mention the death of the LTI. I can just hear Lowell, Jack and Mark now, "Oh they don't need that extra 2 - 3 grand, even though I'm making millions in bonuses, even though our marketing campaigns SUCK!!!"

On top of that they raise the price of insurance last year. But don't worry. We only make BILLIONS in profits. That is THOUSANDS of MILLIONS for those of you that don't know.

Thanks f...

Yea, not to mention, customer's get Back-up Assistant FREE, yet employee's pay for it?! Makes a HEL...Of alot of since to "SOMEONE" I guess! I will never again download things to my phone to "help" a customer only so I can pay for it, which I have done MANY times in the past..

Exactly. Maybe the greedy VZW execs (who get the multi-million dollar bonuses in part by increasing costs of health insurance for us lowly front-line employees, cancelling the LTI program and increasing the costs of employee lines) will get the message when they hear agents saying "no I don't have Verizon service" when asked by customers. I'll pay the extra 20 bucks to AT&T just so that I don't have to deal with the clueless (and rude) employee account reps after my price increase.

Not true. Secondary lines are now discounted also..$5 per line now

Um, no. All the lines are at 50% off. Primary as well as secondary.

Considering I have 6 people in my family, yeah, the 5th line is a bonus.

They suck too! Specifically the PDA/Blackberries. No $99 Pearls for employees, don't even get me started about Voyagers.

I assume those of you talking about the LTI have asked your leadership team about the new STI? If not, please do ask, instead of blasting YOUR company in a public forum before getting all the facts. Secondly, health care premiums have increased. VZW can not control the insurance climate, but your monthly contribution has not increased anywhere near what VZW has had to contribute. Please see your supervisor or HR representative and get the facts. Otherwise, you are only publicly taking away from the VZW image without the facts, and then someone is affecting your incentives... you!

🤣 aka: Someone! You obiviously don't work were I work! Insurance premiums across the country are a given, that has NOTHING to do with the "other matters" at hand.. So since you might be in the "higher" beings, do you think maybe you could "help" us out while WE are helping VZW customers with the extra's other than paying for them ourselves? Or maybe a "better price" on our phone's (pay more than the customer's most time's, hard to understand) and price plans..

You don't sign an agreement for your handset, hence no subsidy. You can upgrade every 10 months. Not to mention the 999 lines that you may have available.

Funny that you should say "YOUR" company since the execs have made clear that us lowly customer service representatives are not deserving of the kinds of incentives they get -- by doing away with Long Term Incentives and increasing the employee cost for employee lines of service.

I am sure that the execs, A.D.s and above, will continue to get the same huge bonuses and incentives and of course completely FREE Verizon Wireless cell service while the rest of see our benefits whittled away. Somebody's gotta pay for their perks so I guess it has to be the reps.

Nothing like biting the hand that feeds you. If you don't like the benefits, then leave. They are called benefits for a reason. You are ALWAYS welcome to open you own retail account.

Wow, management is really starting to scurry out of the woodwork to respond. I guess us worker bees aren't allowed to offer any criticism at all. As far as leaving that may be the case if our benefits continue to be whittled away.

I guess you missed the whole part where I said that I have an AT&T account as my main provider but signed up for the 5 buck plan so I'd have a VZW phone on hand to help customers. If the choice is to pay more to help customers then I'll just drop the VZW line. Like I said earlier, it has been nice to be able to tell customers that I also have Verizon service when I'm asked. Not much of a vote of confidence when a disgruntled customer asks if I have Verizon and I say "no I don't."

I think you missed the point of benefits. It is an offering NOT an entitlement. I don't see why it would hurt business if you do not have Verizon for your cell. People choose carriers for their own personal reasons, and your reasons for not having it shouldn't matter to someone that is getting it unless there is an issue with coverage where they live. I have Verizon because the rest of my family does.

Who said it was an "entitlement" here slick? 🙄

Verizon Wireless sells itself to prospective experienced employees through the recruitment process by pointing out the generous benefits as compared to other companies. As these benefits are discarded it renders the original inducement to take a job here a blatant misrepresentation.

How true... All I heard while being hired was, "Ohhh this is such a good company to work for, the benefits are so great. Bla bla bla."

That may be true once you get to AD or higher, until then it is at best average.

That's what I exactly did. I left. I was there for 3+ years and I've seen their pay cuts they make on the RSRs (not a direct pay cut, but making it hard to get commissions). But it's okay. I milked them for their tuition assistance. I'm at a better company now where I actually get weekends off and better pay :-)

I just accepted my LTI. Pays out in three years just like the last two I've received. Not sure what you are talking about with LTIs going away. They didn't offer one in 2007, but we already have received them for 2008. Besides, LTIs are a bonus, not guarantees like STIs.

Just a word for those of you that have the $5 plan. You can now get the Nationwide 65 Plus plan regardless of age. I just looked it up. So for $15 you get;
200 daytime
500 night and weekend
unlimited in calling
If you need a text package you can add any of the consumer text pages. So you could get the $5 package and the plan and still only pay $20. With our additional fifth line of service I'm going to get this for my mom. But would be good for a low user.
