No such merger would ever be approved. It would result in anti-trust lawsuits and the breakup of a monopoly. At&t has already been through that before...

True dat. No one ever seems to bring up that we've been down this road before, and its a pretty futile one. ๐Ÿ˜•

It's just a matter of actually knowing something about the topic that you're going to speculate about. Out of all the people that post in these forums I've managed to single out a few that actually have something to say.

Navigating these forums requires a mental filter. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Oh not to you at all. Just speaking out about the dilution of intelligence in general. I know I sound snobbish, but I work all day with ignorance then I somehow find even more of it on the message boards. I know I have a choice to NOT log on, but I can't help it. It's like crack!

Psychoanalysis: I think I come here searching for validation therapy, but that is rarely achieved.

btw, I'm a strong advocate for the idea that wireless carriers should require customers to go through an application process to be a wireless customer. Hopefully then there would be some sort of filtration process.

Sample questions would be like:

1) When an electronic has a minor glitch that requires rebooting, do you:

Nah. The only thing going on is self-interest, on both carrier's parts.

Huge mergers in wireless have kinda lost their shine since the Sprint-Nextel disaster. Plus its very doubtful that the FCC would approve something that would create a 'supercarrier' that'd have 52% of the USA's wireless customers.

Even the Bush administration isn't that dumb. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

NO ONE could compete against such a carrier. Who's gonna do that? Sprint? ๐Ÿคฃ

So on antitrust and monopoly grounds, you're pretty much out the window right there.

Even assuming the Bush admin was retarded and out to lunch enough to try and give approval, there'd still be the MASSIVE amount of divestitures that'd have to happen to get it through.

No, its just not gonna happen.

Gee, if you liked the Sprint-Nextel disaster (two large carriers with incompatible technologies), a VZW-ATT merger would be ten times worse.

They both will ...
