This question has been beaten up multiple times both here and on howardforums.com.

Verizon does not sell or promote any phones that support Bluetooth. Verizon evaluated several CDMA phones that support Bluetooth, but they decided not to include those phones in their portfolio, for whatever reason.

The consensus among the people who want Bluetooth appears to be that one of the best solutions is to switch to a GSM carrier for at least a year for now. T-mobile, Cingular and AT&T have good selection of handsets that have Bluetooth. T-Mobile appears to have very reasonable monthly charges (lower than Verizon, actually), they only require 1-year contract, their phones are tri-band world phones and T-Mobile do not lock they phones (so you can...

actually Verizon had ONE bluetooth phone.. You may be able to find it for sale on ebay.

The model was the Motorola 270c
This is not a 3G phone so the data speed it only 14.4 kbps, but that is good enough for checking email.

Sprint now has a bluetooth phone, but is onyl available in limited quanities.. you can order one by calling 1-866-PCS-AUTO

Actually, Verizon also carries the Sony Ericcson T61c through indirect agents (Radioshack, Cartoys, etc.) but not at it's primary locations. Additionally, the new Jabra Freespeak headphones which utilize Bluetooth technology are universally compatible among almost all of our handsets.

I did exactly what you did, tallrussian! Unfortunately, I had to switch my business account to T-Mobile.

In 11 years of Verizon usage, I never thought to leave them over any feature or phone.

Unfortunately that changed after I bought a bluetooth-equipped car. I'm disappointed in Verizon's stance and lack of leadership on this important technology, and I voted with my business.

Ihave a bluetooth phone through Sprint, But thier really isnt that big of a demand for Bluetooth, except from techies, and geeks. 😁

Your average cell phone user, which makes up more than half of the customer base in North America, really have never even heard of bluetooth or what it does. If the Demand increases, I'm sure the companies will start coming out with them.

Big Poppa, The cars with bluetooth are here now and VZW does not have an offering. If you read the auto sites you will see the VZW users are very unhappy. Word on the auto sites says that VZW is due for a bluetooth phone 4th quarter '04. I personally need a bluetooth phone that is blackberry capable. The first such phone is the Nokia 6820 due later this quarter for AT&T. Who knows how long I will wait for VZW.

Well all I can say is, I have not heard a darn thing about the release of any bluetooth phones for Verizon... It's not thier top priority becuase the demand is not that high for it...In the Six month working for Verizon I have not had one new customer ask me when a bluetooth phone was coming out.. only on these forums is were I hear it.

Wait until more people buy more cars. Starting from 2004 model year Acura, Chrysler, Jeep and Toyota include Bluetooth support as a factory system in their cars for hands-free telephone connectivity.

I think that that move may have been caused by the fact that some state imposed restrictions on the use of cell phones while driving, I dunno.

Either way, whatever the reason is, my car came with factory support for Bluetooth hands free profile. And now every one of my friends who sees the system wants to have the same in their cars. Just wait until more people buy 2004 cars.

Unfortunately currently Verizon has nothing to offer to anyone who buys a 2004 model year car like that.

Totally agree, tallrussian. I have a 2004 3-series and the integrated Bluetooth is really just too cool and convenient. As you said, not only is the level of integration very efficient and productive, to a man everyone who sees it work is convinced they need one!

I have ordered a Bluetooth equipped car and already have a Bluetooth equipped Apple PowerBook. After 9 years of great nationwide service from Verizon I find that they do not offer a Bluetooth phone.

The GSM vendors are the only ones selling Bluetooth phones and their national coverage is sparse at best.

I too am voting with my feet and signing up with T-Mobile tomorrow.
