At my Store, we were told by the Helio rep. that if they did not want to give there SSN, we were just to charge 100.00 security deposit, but we tryed this when trying to do a activation and the system would not let us continue without a SSN. But even if you don't have good credit the max deposit is $75.00. You have to do a contract on Helio.

If you get the myspace deal then you don't have to get a contract even if you have bad credit. Just call and when ordering tell them you want the myspace deal w/no contract. That's what I did.

Did you go through a dealer? I've heard of dealers charging a lot more for the deposit. Helio itself will only go to $75 though. Just do a search on ebay and you can see the dealers selling helios who will do larger deposits.

Some dealers do charge up to $200.00. for a deposit in case the customer does not keep the service on for at least 4 month's. If they did not, they would loose there comm. from Helio.

ok here it is. excellent = none, good = $35 non refundable fee, ok = $125 deposit (you will get back if your bill is payed on time every month), bad = $150 deposit (refundable), really bad = $250 deposit (refundable), and if you dont have a ssn it will be $350 deposit.

so there you go. if it changes again, i will try to let you all know.

Helio (who claims not to be a phone company) is starting to act like one - they now do credit checks and there are fees depending on your credit score. and that's both through a retalier or directly from Helio.

If you have bad credit its either 150.00 dollar one time only non-refundable deposit or 300.00 dollar refundable deposit after 12 months of active services, no late payments and account on good standing of course. Just contacted Helio because I want that Helio Ocean!!

I realize that these may be the prices that you were quoted, but the credit fee/deposit is based on your credit score and can range from zero to $350. I should know my whole family has a Helio and we've all paid different prices.

Yeah they actually just changed it, its now on the pay scale of $0 for A+ credit, then $50, $75, $150, or $250, i recently contacted them for the new deposit scale, and now ALL deposits are refundable, they said the deposit no longer goes above $250, and this is kinda funny bcuz now they have exactly the same as Sprint's credit deposits.
