If you are unsure of Helio READ THIS
For anyone thinking about purchasing a Helio device ("not a phone, not a phone company")-
First good news - they now offer M2M for their all in customers.
second great news - I heard they have just moved their customer service center (no longer ClientLogic). So that will improve.
and if you are worried about coverage, keep in mind, wherever there is Sprint or Vorizon coverage you will find Helio, as they do not have their own towers but travel through Sprint and have a roaming contract with Vorizon. I have never dropped a call and I live in a very rural area.
last but not least - check out the Ocean - it's made by Pantech (the makers of the Hero) and I think it's going to be pretty cool. I plan on trading up my Drift when it come...

You should also note that while you can voice-roam on Verizon towers, you will not have any data access. That means no text messaging, video/pic messaging, H.O.T. (Helio On Top), internet etc...

I'm very surprised to hear that - whenever I see the roaming signal I also still have 3G on my screen and have never had any problems.

Splunk please stop spreading this false information, actual since Helio runs off of Sprint's network who has roaming contracts w/ all the major CDMA wireless carriers (e.g. Alltel, Verizon) and actually sprint does have a roaming contract that allows for voice and data usage on verizon, and voice w/ alltel.

Also since Helio does not OWN sprint networks, they have no power on what network the phones coverage will roam on, since they are piggy-backing, Helio will have the exact coverage of Sprint....Also.....
