The Only Tracfone Thread You Need To Read

In my experiences with Tracfone, it is good for three types of people-
1. People who use their phone infrequently or like the security of having a phone in case of emergency

2.People who have bad Credit

3. People who need to cut back on phone bills or liimit their phone usage.

The huge plus with the Tracfone service is convenience. I found a decent motorola phone for 10 dollars, and was able to set it up in very little time over the internet. One doesn't even need to enter any personal information as far as I remember. The convenience of the service is a great thing for those who have less than stellar credit.

For someone who uses a phone only for emergencies or infrequent calls- < or = 2 a day- this is might be a great ...

Very good post! 🙂

I used to carry a Tracfone for some of those very reasons.

Not everyone needs a full-time cell phone, and for less than $10 per month, you can have wireless service.

That is no longer true.

Now, when you buy a Tracfone, you have to give your name and certain other info in order to purchase one.

Even if that wasn't the case, it's hardly their fault that their product has been abused by irresponsible, lawless people. For that matter, we could hold public libraries responsible for the misuse of the internet by pedophiles and other low-life's who surf there to prevent being caught at home perpetrating their misdeeds.

Nobody has to drop wads of cash to use this service. Tracfone is designed for the occasional cell phone ...

Actually we could hold the library responsible, as a country we punish and litigate people and institutions for far less. Seeing as most libraries have content filters, keylogging and the capability to record screen-shots it would deter "pedophiles" from "perpetrating their misdeeds" at the library. So, if a library neglected to implement those measures they would be culpable.

Also, Tracfone is a decent cellular provider if you are unable or unwilling to go with a contract.

So how can Tracfone deter the dope pushers from using their service?

By requiring the same information to open an account as a post-paid customer. Sure, you don't actually run a credit check, but you have their contact information on file and verify that it is correct.

That could be one way.

There are many, many things to consider when choosing your wireless service. Usage is only one of them.

Pre-paid providers do well if you do not use the phone often, have credit issues and are not willing to pay deposits (or unable to), or need an emergency phone.

In regards to Tracfone, its best for users who want an emergency only phone, and do not have an e-mail account they check regularly. If they have an e-mail account, Virgin would be better for 2 reasons. 1: $90 per year and 2: Flat rate of $0.18 per minute.

Tracfone is $100 per year, for 400 minutes, thats a cost of $0.25 per minute.

For more frequent users, Tracfone's Net10 service is another pre-paid alternative...and its always only $0.10 per minute.

However, mo...
