🤨

Or any pre-pay service for that matter? Could I buy an unlocked phone and use my Tracfone SIM in it?

*Joins in* many pre-paid carriers don't offer data in the first place..the most you would get out of the phone is MMS.

Virgin and Cingular might..since they both seem to offer access to their online shopping things. I dunno if they actually offer web...but it is a possiblity. I can look into it..did.

Virgin Does offer web access for a dollar a day up to 500KB of usage.

Cingular offers MediaNet at 1 cent/KB.
(You can use any Cingular phone for any of their plan types, as long as ur willing to pay for the phone, can be used as prepaid.)

Best bets for PDA's would be Virgin or Cingular. (Cingular might let you use a PDA phone on the GoPhone Service, as long as ur willing to pay non-activated prices.)

But Tracfone seems to be ai...

you can use pda with cingular but you'll be wiping your pre-paid cards in literally a few minutes. the pick your plan will offer unlimited media but with phones, pda uses a different one, so you can use pda on pre-paid but for wat? a few minutes online and buy another card? i think people using pda on pre-paid the dumbest thing. if your willing pay over $600 for a pda and pay extra to have it unlocked, and pay the data charges, why don't you just get a dam credit card and post-paid.

holy cow!
How can I get hooked up with CINGULAR?? Is this like some phonescoop time machine here? Have I wondered into a portal and traveled into an alternate universe where cingular still exists? Wireless Buddy, were you cruising in your De Lorean and accidentally hit 88 miles per hour and the flux capacitor started running and bring you back in time to a point where cingular existed? Yo McFly, you're shoes untied. You're so gullible McFly.
As for data phones on a prepaid account, it's totally possible without using a ton of data you stupid heads. For instance, take a look at pick your plan's on AT&T, they allowed the first gen iPhones on them without burning up a $600 phone bill dummy face.
Nothing personal, you're just wrong.

🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

PDA's are for serious people who need to use the cell phone for business and communication while away from the office..

Tracphone is for old people that never use their phones and need it in an "emergency", for kids that want a phone but mom and pop dont want their kids racking up a huge bill, and for people with crap credit.

None of those people have any need for a PDA. Tracphone will never release a PDA/Smartphone.

People who need a PDA are legitimate cell phone users and will choose a real cell phone company (ie VZW, Cingy, Tmob, Sprint).

When their call center people stop speaking hindi and speak real english. Or when they can generate enough 18 digit codes to enable more than a phone call (maybe 400 codes?)

if you have Tracfone, why in the world would you need a PDA phone?

I am so taken aback I can't think of anything else to say...

If you can tell me what MS Exchange means, maybe i wont laugh as hard at you

OK, smarty. MS Exchange is a piece of server software that provides smtp, pop3, imap and proprietary Exchange email capabilities. It is closely integrated with Microsoft Outlook and provides a server based version of not only your e-mail, but your calendar, contacts, etc. If you would like me to explain the seven layers of the OSI model to you, I can do that as well.

Now, on with the real topic.

To those of you who think that Tracfone is for "old people", I'm not an old person, I'm 27. I am a network administrator for a state agency. I have a lot of use for a PDA/Smartphone. However, since I bought my tracfone in January, I have used 50 minutes of airtime. I have Vonage (unlimited nationwide+ calling) at home and have a separate ce...

Woohoo, you looked up the details for MS-Exchange. You are the intarwebz master.

The fact of the matter is Tracfone offering data services would be flat-out stupid. If you are looking for data services, and you are willing to spend a large sum of money for a smart-phone, why not go month-to-month with a large carrier? Hmm... something to think about.

Don't think Trac has any data plans or plan to have any in the near future. If you want to buy an unlocked phone, try wirelessimports.com

yes, you could.

tracphone really isn't into the data/pda revolution....they serve a main type of customer: prepay just to have a cell. like mostly kids and really old people.

There is an actual joke in all that. People lets read that again. Now you can laugh your a__es off. Tracfone is absolute s__t. Their service sucks. Many years ago, I had a tracfone phone. Well I retired it by shattering it up against my bedroom wall when I realize it f__king sucks. So do yourself a favor and switch to a service that doesn't.

I'll be honest, I don't understand the joke... but I laughed real hard at it anyways. I would like you to explain it to me but at the same time I don't want to understand the joke.. It just might be funnier this way. HA! Thank you so much.
