Upgrading my Boost Phone

How big of a hassle is it to upgrade my phone? I have a i215 that just died last night. I am going to be picking up a newer i450.

Am I going to have to call customer service, or do I just swap sims out?

Is there a way to transfer my contacts?

Do I still get the $10 credit even if I have an existing account?

Medium Hassle......
Your old Sim card has all of your personal information embedded in it, so if you want to transfer all of it over you have two choices...they make a machine that will read and transfer all of that information from one SIM to another, but if one is not readily availible (not likely) then your only option is to manually transfer. Look at it as a way of culling through all of those old numbers and dumping those that won't answer your calls anymore..lol

Yes, you should call in to customer service to give them the Equipment identifier (IMEI), the serial number on the label inside the phone, behind the battery ....should start with 364-----. This is critical to having your new phone work correctly...the i450 has capabilities...

I just went through this with my phone....

I had a i50sx......OLD ass phone and wanted to upgrade to something nice(flip). My account had expired so i didnt want to put any more money on that POS so i went to the Nextel store...and they said everything should work fine and you should be even able to keep your number.

Well, then I got the whole story after 3 hours on the phone with boost....

IF YOU WISH TO KEEP YOUR NUMBER YOU DO NOT GET THE 10 DOLLAR CREDIT.

If you just activate a new number with the new SIM card, then you do. Thankfully the manager at the nextel store was nice and gave me a 20 dollar reboost card 🙂
