Download app on i415.

I lost the download app on my i415. I've called boost about this a couple of times but I keep getting directed to http://idenphones.motorola.com/iden/support/s oftware/html/firmware_utility.html which doesn't list my phone. Raul told me that the download for the 450 will work, but it doesn't.

Can anyone tell me how I can recover the download app for my 415?

Thanks!

Anybody?

Boost is no help at all. They just keep telling me to go to Motorola's iDen site, but that software doesn't work with the i415. I've searched Google many times but the answer doesn't seem to be out there. I have seen where other people have this same problem, but no answers are anywhere to be found from anyone.

Surely Boost wouldn't leave customers with this problem with no alternatives, would they?

Or would they?

Arti415,
I run into this problem frequently and I have to be honest...the only resolution is to have the handset "flashed", which will reload the "firmware" just as it came from the factory.
My first question is how does this occur? Is there anything you can put your finger on as to how this happened...Did the handset come without the feature or did you try and do something to cause the Java Apps to delete? My interest is to try and help others not do the same thing, to avoid the problem.
Have you actually spoken with Motorola and asked them for some help or suggestions on how to recover the Dwnld apps feature? Are they the ones that directed you to the Moto iDen site?
As far as I know there should be some sort of online support to help...

I can tell you exactly how this happened. To put it simply, I deleted it. Here's how it happened...

When I got the phone one of the first things I did was check out the preinstalled apps. Then I downloaded a couple more from Boost and messed around with them a little. After a while I decided I didn't want any of them and wanted to get rid of them to make room for some other things. So I went to the menu, Java Apps, then the Java System icon, then I hit the menu button again. Here you see Delete All. "Just what I need!" I thought. "I can delete all these at the same time!" Well, it sure deletes everything all right. It even deletes Download Apps.

Now at this point I must make it clear that at no time and in no manner is the user ever wa...

I respect the fact that your are angry about your treatment from Boost and I certainly agree that the feature "download apps" is something that should be imbedded on the firmware. And I also agree that you should have the ability to solve the problem without so much grief, I am amazed that Motorola does not have the program needed for the i415 availible....I would have done exactly what you have done to try and find the correct application on their website to fix it !!!

Have you spoken with Motorola about the problem or have you just spoken with Boost and visited the iDen utility site ?

I am a little confused at the shot you have taken at Boost customer care agents....admittedly you are the cause of the problem and Motorola is the solu...

You're right. After getting some sleep I feel a little better and I need to apologize for my rant last night. So, I apologize.

You asked me to clarify my statement about the iDEN web site. If you go there and look at all the Download Apps links, you'll see they all link to the very same program, namely http://idenphones.motorola.com/idenProducts/u tils/iDENDownloadAppsUtility.exe. I downloaded this program and installed it then hooked up my phone and tried it. The program tries to connect for a few seconds then finally informs me the i415 is not supported.

Thanks for the Motorola phone number. Last night I briefly searched their web site for a phone number but didn't immediately find one. I'll give them a call on Monday.
