Re: Re Startup kit
I have to apologize for my negativity about E-bay, but I have had more bad things happen than good with my personal purchases and I am also the witness to inbound call issues from those who have been mis-led or plan 'ol ripped off by disreputable sellars online at E-bay.I believe the very nature of E-bay allows people to get rid of equipment that is less than representitive of the advertising...but oh well!
E-bay is a buyer beware option and you buys your ticket and takes the ride!!!
So if you find a great deal and feel confident in the purchase go for it! Once you get the phone you can call in with your starter kit information and the IMEI number(found on the inside label of the phone, behind the battery) and we will activate it with a new number in the CT. area.
If it is a Boost phone you will have no trouble when you turn it on, but it is only fair that I offer this warning...if it is a Nextel, when you put the SIM in it you may get a message that asks for a "Special code", this is due to the slight differences in the Boost and Nextel SIM that may have been the last one in it. The resolution is relatively simple...wait til the exact error message is "Please enter Special code now" and turn the phone off (powercycle) and back on...it should now recognize the Boost Sim and your off and running. I have three Nextels and all of them work just great!
The i730....I also noticed it is off the site as a new purchase. The simple fact is that there are many of this extraordinary phone still out there but Boost has to make room on the Web site for the new releases...you won't find the i285 or the i215 on the site either but the retail stores still have them in stock and you can find them at many a site online, there out there, you just have to search. I believe it is one of the best handsets Moto ever designed and it will be a sad day when they are gone...
But on the other side of the street, you should really take a hard look at the new models coming out...the i875 is due for release nationally and it really does have all of the Bells & Whistles you may be looking for!
Let me know if I can help...Jess
