The only options we do not support are 3-way, call waiting, group connect or direct talk.
Jess

no boost mobile phones have those features?

No...both three way and call waiting require a second line and although our phones are capable of a second line we don't have a way to charge for two lines of service....
Kinda the same thing with Group Connect and Direct talk, no way to effectively bill for the service.

I hope we can eventually add those service for our Premium Plan customer...

Jess Im sorry to say that you are misinformed. Call waiting and 3 way calling DO NOT require a second line. Currently the way Boost mobile has their billing software set up, it will not allow these features to work, a second line has nothing to do with it. Much like land based phones, as well as other carriers such as Nextel, the system is in place to allow these features to function, all on the same line of service. A second line is just that a second line, seperate phone number and all. Once the billing software is in place properly, you can expect Boost Mobile to offer these services.

Now as for Direct Talk (aka MotoTalk) it is not offered on the boost phones from the factory, but can be enabled via the code plug. There is no billing o...

Well I have to concede that I mis-spoke and errored in my suggestion. Thanks for clearing that up for me!
Now unfortunately I have to disagree with you about the alleged limitations of our billing system.... We have the ability to enable both Three way and call waiting in the current billing system but we don't support the feature because there is no way to bill for two lines of service at the same time. The pre-paid premise bills for one PTN and would require a second account to cover the cost of a secondary line, and I don't care how you dice it , 3-way and call waiting requires a second "line" or the ability to carry information on one line why you talk on the other...semantics!
You are right about the second line of service but for eas...

"Now to address your other muscle flexing...Direct talk is not a free service and all the talk about "code plugs" aside we do not support that option with Boostmobile! There are a few Nextel handsets with the feature on it and I believe it requires a special biliing code to allow you the pleasure of using this feature and Nextel offers it for for the i325 and I believe the i930. But perhaps in the future...
"unlocking" the feature remotely for the voice record ...what the hell are you talking about? These features are availible as an application that you purchase from our web site...if you mean that when they purchase the application and download it to the handset it works, then you are correct, but I get frustrated with terms like locking ...

Enabled.....hmm!

Doesn't that imply the need to need to "add" a feature to the Ban to allow this. Now you have my full attention. Noe of the hadset literture from Nextel, Boost, or Motorola imply the i450 or the i415 are even capable of Direct Talk...

I am never adverse to learning new things but the phones you have mentioned don't advertise tht feature as part of the package. So you have some special knowledge on how to do this "enabling" please share it.

I am impressed with you knowledge and would love to be able to help my cutomers use this service with no interference from either Boost of Nextel..
Hell, if the phone is capable and it doesn't cost anything I want it!

On this I am dead serious GH350...I am thinking about chang...

Sorry I meant DH 350...my error, I was not attempting to be a jerk...once again my apologies.
I do appreciate the information you have provided, it has forced me to learn about a few things I did not know and stretched my grasp but I really would like to know how you can enable a phone to do something it is not supposedly able to do!

There is really nothing special to it. I might recommend that if you really wish to learn how to enable thesefeatures, that you go on some of the more popular iDen forums and search it out. Howardforums, IdenInsider and NextelMods are good starting points.

As for the reason you cannot find the information in the literature provided by Boost and Nextel is because they have provided you with item specfic information. I know that the i450 phone is in actuality an i560 with a different housing, and that may well explainwhy you cannot find the proper information on it.

Again I would ask that you search around the other iden based forums to get your information. There is a wealth of knowledge out there, ripe for the picking.

Enable, disa...

Thanks..I will try those sites for my own edification, any other suggestions would be appreciated.
I have already tripped around in Iden insider and the problem I come across is the language....I don't mean to imply that "geekyness" abounds, but the technical knowledge required to decipher a lot of the information on that site and others like it is astounding!
I am just a simple customer service agent trying to make the use of the phone easy and enjoyable.
Riddle me this joker....if I enable a i450 to use the Direct Talk without nextel or boosts knowledge, am I not crossing a line in regards to integrity as it relates to my service terms and agreements?

Hmmmm how can I say this........You as a CS agent working for Nextel/Boost should not provide those services with out your employers say so. Now myself as well as others can do so, only, because we are not under the employ of Nextel/Boost. There are cases of in store sales reps providing said services, and once their superiors caught wind of what was occuring, they were immediatlyy discharged. Even if you, Jess, planned on providing services above and beyond what you normally would, out of your home, you are still tied to your employers "code of conduct".

Ill be straight up with you, many of these programs that are floating around the 'net are leaked, hacked and otherwise not for general consumption. If you should acquire these programs,...

Hey Danny.....I am not aware of the method used to "enable the handset to work with the "Direct Talk" but I am aware of the number of inbound calls we are starting to get from customers who are having an error code on there handset that is asking for them to enter a code for the "Code Plug"......PLEASE BE CAREFUL.....there is information floating around out there that offers to help you out with "moding" or "enabling" your handset to do things that are not normally supported.
The problem is that if you don't know what you are doing or you fail to follow the instructions correctly you are more likely to turn your phone into a paperweight than anything else!!!
Just beware is all I'm saying....

you have to go into java; there will say this application called direct talk; you have to probably install it; then you run it; remember, you have to have someone else using the same or simliar type phoens with direct talk to enable it to work.
