Confusing chirping question

I've been dispatched as a sub contractor down to the South to help with disaster restoration from the hurricanes. I currently use verizon. I do plan on sticking with them.

Here is my question.

I am going to be in the US. I need to be able to chirp other contractors. Some of them are canadian (thus they have Telus Mike, the canadian nextel counterpart) They will be in the US with me.

Now my question is where there be a service charge for me chirping them, for international charges? even though theyre going to be local?
