Hello!
I have an i60c Nextel phone which i would like to put prepaid boost on.
I got it from a friend who upgraded and she gave me everything she had which sadly was just the phone and charger

I am pretty sure that my phone requires a 32k sim card and not the 64k one

Yet, i can not find a starter kit or whatever i need in the size of 32k

So bassicly, i have no idea what i am doing but would like to get my i60c on the boost network

please help

Mix...
the i60 is a great phone and it will be perfect in the Boost system if it has no problems!
First you do need a 32K sim to use the handset at it's best, so we have to get you to a site that will help you out..
http://pcs4lessllc.com/BoostMobileMain.htm »

A great site that specializes in Nextel/Boost equipment and accessories. They have 32K starter kits available as far as I can tell from the web site..I have purchased three 64K's from them and have had no problems so far. You can query them and they will get back to you within a reasonable time frame during the work week. If you have to get a 64K sim you will lose functionality of the phone book on the handset but all other services will be fine; DC, and Cellular. The Sim's he has...

"The Sim's he has are preactivated but it is not a huge deal to request the Market transfer"

Sorry Mix...I tend to fall into jargon when I talk about these things !

The Starter kit has a SIM card and an Activation card in them, the sim card is the brains and heart of the phone. It is basically a computor chip that hold the information the refers to the handset...the phone is sometimes referred to as the "shell", some shells are prettier and better made than others but your i60 is a tried and true "shell you take the battery out of the back of the phone you can see where the SIM slides into the back of the phone and makes contact with the inside contacts.
The SIM card is what is "activated" with your new cellular # and the walkie talkie #, it also has the billing information and it will hold your phone book on it. This is the go...

Thanks 44 !

I hope I can turn around some of the screwed up experiences for our customers and potential customers...

Cheaper phones- I admit I am called the phone whore at work because I have a handful of phones we use as floor models on the floor, so I have a lot of experiences with both new and used equipment. I would recommend that you look around for anything in your city that might offer a sale price, for example some of the Wal-Mart and Target's have our phones on sale...I have heard from customers they have been able to get the i205 & i215 for a great price with the current $30 mail in rebate, the i730 ( in my opinion the best phone Motorola makes without a contract) can be found for around $150. Thats the SOP way of getting a ...

Boy... if your looking for that many, it sounds like your looking for a way to keep a group of you in contact with the Walkie Talkie feature...Maybe just start out with the i205 or i215 if you can get the rebate deal, and if they work out for everybody, each of you can look into an upgraded model with the options that fit best at their own cost.
Either of those models is an excellent way to decide if Boost/Nextel is for you without investing a huge chunk of buck's...Motorola makes a very sound and reliable handset.

Let me know what I can do to help!

Hey Jess. Quick Question. Found a Friend who is going to sell me his old i95.

Is this phone ok on the boost system? And i should be able to go to any Boost Dealer and get the Sim card when I activate it right?

Just those 2 Question. Thanks for the help again. 🙂

Yes, the i95 is a great phone, depending on the condition, of course.
Chances are slim you will find a Boost Starter Kit w/SIM at ANY retail sites.

I would suggest a retail store search on Nextel.com...but I still feel very strongly that your best bet is the www.pcs4lessllc.com web site, they have dropped the price to 34.99 shipped for the 64k sim! Your new i95 should work great with a 64k sim.

That site does not have the 32k SIM needed for the i60c but there are 32k SIMs for sale on Ebay. If I purchased one of those for my i60c Nextel phone would it work? Would I stil need to purchase a starter kit?

Also have a question regarding the Walkie Talkie fee. If I accidently press the walkie talkie or alert button do I get charged a fee even though I haven't used it? Thanks for your time. Eby Stefan

PS
We also have a Nextel i90c. I am assuming the same would apply to it as would apply to the i60c. Am I correct? Eby
