June is going to be one hot month for Android as a handful of devices like the HTC EVO 4G, T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide, and T-Mobile Garminfone are all set to make an arrival onto the scene showcasing some of the talent behind Android. Needless to say that the Motorola i1's unveiling with Boost Mobile may be a bit overshadowed, but one needs to consider in the factor that it'll be offered without a contract. I think the Motorola i1 on Boost's IDEN network will be a major failure. Boost Mobile didn't think this out well enough.
Boost Mobile uses the old Nextel iDen network, which creates challenges for modern data-centric smartphones. iDen is the SLOWEST of the national mobile data networks, crawling along at sub-dialup speeds. So Boost made some compromises. They've set the default browser to Opera Mini, which compresses pages by up to 90 percent and, as a result, loads Web pages relatively quickly on the i1. They've also restricted Android Market downloads to when you're in Wi-Fi mode. That will probably go for any app that involves Internet streaming, too.

Some of the newer boost phones use CDMA.
You can get an Incognito, Mirro or a Blackberry on Boost. All CDMA.
Not iDen.
Granted, as I write that I realize that the i1 specifically is going to be Nextel.
So yeah... I doubt I'd even consider the i1 as well..
*BUT* Their are plenty of customers who are happy with Boost/Nextel. Will the number be there to make the i1 successfull as well?
