If we can pay money in exchange for crap on a monthly basis, then Boostmobile is your carrier. i will never go back to them...

I know... I know...

Your words are that of truth, not hidden behind politeness and fluff. You got straight to the point and got your facts straight.

There will be those that hate and say mean things back... but they find it hard to argue with the truth.

Yeah, too bad Boost isn't like Verizon or AT&T- companies that never have outages, messaging problems, or coverage gaps. 🙄

Finally someone that understands prepay is just that. No Prepay will be as good as a contract service otherwise the big 3 in this industry would need a bailout too.

True that.

Expecting a cheap, pre-paid service to offer all the bells and whistles of a post-paid major carrier is silly.

I have to surpress a laugh anytime a customer says they'll switch to Boost or Cricket and get 'the exact same service for less'.

I Just switched from At&t to Boost 2/4/10. At first I was frustrated with the slow txt and cheesy web, but seeing the extra $20-$30 in my wallet at the end of the month instead of in Ma Bell's hip pocket I started feeling pretty good about the switch. Boost is the "little train that could" chugging up a steep grade in a hail storm....Just wait untill it reaches the top of the hill, above the clouds "TOOOT-TOOOOOT" hear chat whistle bloW! chug-a-chug-a-chug-a...TOOOOt-TooT
All ineed is to get my i920 moto activated and I'll be so happy I might buy an other Boost phone. 🤣

Couldn't you switch from the iDEN side of Boost to the CDMA side to improve your texting & data speed?

For awhile Sprint-Nextel limited Boost to just iDEN, but I believe now they are selling Boost on the CDMA side again. No PTT on the CDMA side, but Sprint's CDMA is a much faster network. I don't know how the plan pricing compares.

Yes the cdma network is faster and Boost only offers support for SMS/MMS on the cdma side. There is no reason why the iDen side couldn't support messaging. The problem is the slow baud rate (19k) and small packet size (20-30kb/sec. They do support these features on thier "cheesy" phones that they sell, but not on the high end iDen, Nextel phones. The amount of support needed for a Smartphone or blackberry is more feasible on the cdma but these i920/i930 Motorola's are iDen/GSM and since Nextel/Sprint aren't selling them any more the boost people have an opportunity to have affordable unlimited service at a reasonable rate on a nice handset that supports windows mobile. I guess the answer to the problem is GOOD CREDIT. The service many of us...

Funny, but the messaging that comes with Nextel's NextMail add-on feature (Nextel only - not Boost) is almost lightning-fast. Frequently, when a recipient receives my PTT voice message at their PC email client, from the time they type a text response and click send, it takes from 5-10 seconds to hit my phone. And there is no downloading like their is with conventional texting (phone-to-phone), as soon as the NextMail text reply hits my phone it is instantly readable.

I don't know why the NextMail text replies are extremely fast while the regular text messaging is (a) slow, and (b) has to be downloaded. At any rate, the iDEN system IS capable of fast messaging, NextMail proves that, they just choose to not use fast messaging for regular te...
