Boost Messenger AIM Problems

All was working fine then all of a sudden I can't login to AIM anymore it gives me a network error or timeout no server response.
I have tried updating BM and also went as far as unistalling it and reinstalling and nothing seems to work. I can still connect to MSN. Did AOL change something like they always do to 3rd party clients on the pc. Is it possible the BM software vendor needs to update the aim protocal scripting. Help Please!!

Happy Holidays Siacona !
Boost messenger has proven to be a real nightmare for some....it sounds like you have tried everything possible on your end. Have you contacted Wireless Web Support (866-265-8305) and asked them for any information regarding specific problems with AIM-AOL?
I am not a huge fan of AOL as it is, but you may need to try and contact them for any changes or possible network issues from their end. I am on their site (http://www.aim.com/) and can find no contact number but they do have a way to report problems. Are you getting a specific error message ? As of 12pm last night I am not aware of any reported problems but I am home today and could only advise you try and contact Boost for some answers.....good luck with that!...

I can access everything else just AIM is giving me problems and with previously being senior tech for a nationwide isp I have noticed AOL is not very fond of third party apps accessing their network and has often made changes so third party apps cannot connect therefore causing the app vendor to make adjustments and release patches. I have no issues connecting to aim using my pc with aim software, but on the same token I also tried Trillian from the pc and it connected also. So either it is just affecting the mobile side or there is a problem with network on Boost/Nextel side to which I wouldn't understand because nothing else has been affected.

That doesn't make sense Siacona..if everything else is working fine except AIM , why is it that it is Boost's fault? If you have no problems accessing other ports with your handset and the attempts at getting into AIM are rebuffed than in my mind I the problem has to do with AOL.....

What I am suggesting is that , just as you mentioned, Aol has done something to block or prohibit access thru Boost Messenger....I believe if a "patch" is forthcoming it will self correct thru the network or the "patch" needs to be applied thru an AIM firmware upgrade....I am certainly not as knowledgeable about isp's as you are so I would suggest the place to ask questions about this, in measured amounts, is both Wireless Web support and AIM. I have given yo...

I wasn't laying the blame on Boost. I never even really mentioned Boost service in my original post. In fact I am looking most at AOL. If all else is working I can't blame Boost, Boost Messenger is actually coded by a 3rd party vendor not Boost itself so they would have to release a patch if it is in fact AOL. Basically I was describing the issue I have and the things I have done so far to resolve it to see if by chance someone else here was having the same problem.

So far I have had nothing but good service through Boost and good help through these forums.

The original post was meant to be a feedback item for others that might be having the same problem to see what I have already done to try and resolve the issue and to post if they ...

"So either it is just affecting the mobile side or there is a problem with network on Boost/Nextel side to which I wouldn't understand because nothing else has been affected."

I mentioned the possibility in the second post but I also mentioned my doubtfulness that it was Boost/Nextel network issues.

Ok....I feel better, I mis-under stood... But I stll don't have a resolution if I am a boost customer experiencing the same problem....has WW support been helpful and if I contact AIM do you think I will get a resolution? What will I see if I start having the same issue, (e.g. whats the error code(message) the handset will display), does it do it everytime I try and get onto AIM or does it happen sporadically ?
Thanks, Siacona for your help....I guess I have a hard time seperating myself from the company when it comes to a problem like this because I don't think the problem your having should happen if we are doing our jobs and AOL is acting honorably....Thanks, Jess

So far no results from AOL. I haven't called Boost WW support because I don't feel it is a Boost issue. Failed 12-22-2005 1:13 AM "Communication error. Please try again or check your settings" cell # "sent in pm" model i415. It happens all the time and that is the same message I get every time. I am leaning toward it being a software issue with the Boost Messenger Software due to the fact I was having a problem with it coming up with "nolang" instead of "signon" for the button when you go to the AOL. Never has done it for MSN or Yahoo. I can reset the java system and it fixes it till the next time which it happens every couple of days. I have uninstalled Boost Messenger and reinstalled and it still does it. So that is making me think it is a...
