What's with text messaging having to be "downloaded" for ten minutes?
Is that the same on every Boost phone, or just on the lower-end units? Does the Debut have a huge problem with this?
(On a side note, does anybody know if the Debut has truly "threaded" text messaging? "Chat" style? "IM" style?)

(I found my answer to the "threaded" text messages on the Debut, but not the other thing.)

all phones on the iden network do have to download a text because it is sent through an internet connection but it shouldn't take a real 10 minutes, most of the time is should go through in about 30-60 sec depending upon amount of data in message.

RE: "all phones on the iden network do have to download a text..."
Not true in all cases. The SMS system that delivers text replies to Nextel phones using their NextMail service does NOT require any downloading, and those NextMail texts are delivered consistently in 10-15 seconds.
Why they can achieve the excellent performance with NextMail text reply messages but not with their regular text messages remains a mystery.
