ALLTEL AND WESTERN WIRELESS JOIN

Keep in mind that this is just an announcement much like AT&T/Cingular 'announced' back in late 2003 / early 2004 but didn't actually 'close' until midsummer last year. From what I understand, this deal won't close (if at all) until mid 2005 so it is business as usual for both companies until then.

as far a network quality it depends on where you are using your phone. I can tell you though that our footprint will grow significantly here is the coverage map.

Well it won't be getting worse. Rumor has it, Alltel is big on network quality, perfecting coverage in existing areas before moving on as opposed to rapidly expanding and leaving no-coverage pockets. Unlike the Cingular/AT&T merger who overlapped each other considerably, Western Wireless and Alltel overlap only in the Nebraska area, the rest of the country is mutually exclusve to each other. Which means good things for the national plans.

I know one thing my coverage with Alltel is the bomb, I get great signal and call quality everywhere I go. I imagine they will work to make the WW network as good as the network they already maintain. 😁

I have been an Alltel customer for over 4 years and I wouldn't trade the service for any other. I think over a short time you will feel the same way

Yeah It'll probably just take some getting used to. Here in my area, coverage is rough with all the mountains and such as opposed to flat land like back east.

And sorry for not knowing about Kanses. I was running from memory, not any maps in front of me.
