Registering unlocked phone with CellularOne
I am a long time customer of CellularOne but have been a bit disappointed by their selection of phones. I bought an unlocked Motorola Rokr and I can't get it to work on my network. The phone supports 1900 mhz networks which is what I have. I was assured by the person I bought the phone from and even the local CellularOne store that if I had a 1900 mhz phone it would work on the network all I would have to do is put in my sim card. I called the tech support line and they told me to call Motorola then Motorola told me to call my service provider. I want to know if I need to get my money back for this phone or if there is some way that it will work?

it doesn't sound to me like the ph. is unlocked! Actually Cellone only 85o mhz everything else they are roaming(usually off Cingular). However, if the ph is unlocked what error message are you getting???

I figured it out. I need a quadband phone. I was under the impression that Cellular One operated at 1900 mhz. I sold the phone and ordered a quadband unlocked motorola slvr that should work.

The only way lukehart could have the problems that are mentioned is if he purchased a European tri-band 900/1800/1900 MHz version.
If lukehart got a ROKR E1 like that sold by Cingular, it is advertised as quadband and should not have encountered any problems. Other versions of the ROKR sold in north america are tri-band and operate in the 850/1800/1900 MHz frequency.
