Got My First AT&T Display Unit

When I arrived this morning, I had a package waiting for me. It was from AT&T. I opened it up like a child on Christmas morning to find the LG CU720 AKA The Shine. Wow! This phone looks awesome. Unfortunately, I only have the display model and cannot test it out, but if the inside matches the outside (and if it is as good as my old CU500), it should be an amazing phone.

I came home from school the other day and noticed that the CellularOne store in my town was no longer a CellularOne store. I was kinda shocked that it was already changed. But what I did notice was that the new dealer that recently moved in (CellularOne) is still a CellularOne store. Aren't they going to be mandated to become AT&T as well or do they have to close?

I am in the PA1 market.

All Cellular One stores WILL have to become AT&T stores eventually. Just yesterday, we received a banner and some other signage to put up on December 9th.

I was under the impression though that CellularOne dealers would have to reapply with AT&T due to the fact that AT&T has policies regarding how many stores can be within a certain distance of a corporate store. (I'm assuming corporate CellularOne stores will become corporate AT&T stores).

The reason why I asked is because a dealer just moved into my town of about 4,000 people and I think it was bad on their part because we already have a corporate store, a Wal-Mart and a RadioShack that sells their phones. So I'm wondering if they will now have to close or have to reapply with AT&T to be there. In my opinion, there shouldn't be so many stores in one small town.

They will have to resign the authorized agent agreement if AT&T wants them. They will review their sales and numbers and such and if it's beneficial they keep them. You will notice with AT&T that agents will be behind corporate stores. Just last month we got out AT&T sinage outside, almost a year after the COR stores.
